Topic: Short Profile or Long Profile? | |
---|---|
I think my profile may be too long. What is the consensus? Would you rather see a short profile or a long one?

I would always prefer you err on the side of too much info rather than not enough. I think your profile is just the right length.

Mine is 1436 pages long. I did that on purpose to counterbalance all the empty ones and the ones that say "I don't know what to write here" and "Anything you want to know you'll have to ask" and "I hate writing about myself" and all the other 3-word profiles that aren't worth wasting one-tenth of a second on.
I also do it to weed out the illiterates and the people who just want to argue. I would rather have too much information than not enough. But I rarely read anybody's profiles anymore. It's just too depressing to see 600 in a row that are basically all the same. "I like to have fun." "I enjoy going out or staying home." "No game players." "I'm laid back and easy going." Blah. |

I think it may be the best I've read. It give's a sense of who you are and, what you are. It speak's of you! Good job.

Thank you for all the constructive input. It seems that longer is better. I guess that way I can scare em off quicker.

too long for me - i'd rather chat to get to know someone a little more. JMO ![]() It's funny how different we all are. I won't even take the time to message someone if I don't see what I like in the profile..in the essay. If they don't capture me there, I don't talk to them. |

I also like to read what is in the profile. But, then again I wonder if I am too judgmental, if I see something I don't like in the profile. I guess there is a fine line there.

Particularly if it's a picture of Michelle Trachtenberg, and the person posting is not Michelle Trachtenberg. Like we had here a few months back. Sometimes a picture is worth 0 words. |

True Lex, but I just don't care about the picture anyway. It tells me nothing about the person.
The essay tells. |
