I like you is not creepy, I love you after the first date is. Unless she is not mature enough you should hear a simple I think your alright too or something along those lines. Panic is not a good thing, calm down and be cool.

It's not like you wrote her a big long sappy love poem after one date. Geez!
But that reminds me of a story. My Uncle wrote a big long sappy love poem for my Aunt after their second date, but waited to give it to her on their first year anniversary. She fell apart when he told her when he'd written it. ![]() But your deal isn't like that really. ![]() |

I guess I've been out of it too long and need to lean these rules. Why is it so terrible to tell someone you like them? I'm confused. ![]() Awwn, I wish they were all like you ;-) I think the best explanation is the Charlie Chaplin(?) quote, "I'd never join a club that would have me as a member". ![]() Ha ha, I think a lot of girls feel like if the guy shows too much interest, it's too easy, and they lose interest. They want to feel a sense of accomplishment. If the guy appears cool and detached, the girl feels nervous, off-balance, and feels the need to compensate by working to impress the guy and get his attention. In a nutshell, reverse psychology. Ha ha, but what's the point? I understand all this theory, but when I am actually out there dating, I'm that guy who texts, "I like you". Theory and practise are very different. But she texted me back, so maybe she's more like you, and it's all good ;-) Bless everyone! |

Stop worrying about rules. |

I would think "I like" you is usually established before the first date anyway, or it would never happen.

I met this great girl on JSH and we had our first date yesterday. Today she text-messaged me to thank me for a "great meal and conversation". I texted her back, "I like you ;-)" Damn it, I can't BELIEVE I did that!! What the frack was I thinking? You never let the girl you like her, it's all over now, I'm creepy and desperate as far as she's concerned. :-( Ugh...(I'm being half-serious). ![]() |

You never let the girl you like her, it's all over now, I'm creepy and desperate as far as she's concerned. :-( Ugh...(I'm being half-serious). First, you're watching way too much bsg. Secondly, you could be grateful you like who you're with. It's a bit more difficult out here, where the men are men and sheep are fast. (see also, family watchdog for my town). The last complement I paid a woman recently, was, "You know, you're almost becoming a likable person". She was too busy talking to even notice. Go figure. |
