Topic: FOR RECOVERING ADDICTS | |
---|---|
This is a poem that I wrote while incarcerated. I spent 3 yrs in LCIW for poss of marijuana. However, I had hit my bottom in the world of drugs and alcohol. I hope this inspires someone today.
Farewell to Perdition Razor wires wrapped around my vision Birds don't even land here anymore The day laid out before me once more Unlike the birds with their wings, I cannot soar People come but they do not stay The crime they committed requires no pay But I was stuck, down on my luck I could not find redemption So I looked above and saw what was love And since that time, I've changed my intention I try to love and try not to judge I use tough love and must not budge I will try again to be what I intend The hardest is knowing where to begin. Inspirational. Proud to say I've been clean, sober, and smokefree for SIX months today. Thank you for sharing. I was married to an addict for 11 yrs. I can relate since he got me doing it too for a short time. Here I thought he had been clean for all those yrs. I got sober and I had to leave. Right on Amber! Whoot Hoot!!!!!!!!! So does this thread include cigarettes? I just quit two days ago and Im going out of my mind hahaha. Been smoking since I was 12, aside from when I was prego. Been a couple of times I stopped but as the dummy addict I am I got mad after 2 years and started back up. That was 2 years ago. Thank God for Chantix. |
