I caught someone looking at my profile yesterday who had never looked before.

Normally, I don't pay too much attention to this sort of thing -- I just file it away until I need a new topic to complain about (you'd be amazed how full that shelf has gotten over the past year or so!) -- but this one had a very interesting, unique, and creative picture.

So, against my better judgment (a euphemism for "collection of random, poorly planned decisions"), I decided to look at her profile.

And it's empty!

I mean, no "About Me," no "Interests," just the full complement of 18 pictures and a little tiny bit of information in the basic info area, like the fact that she doesn't drink.

Imagine that -- someone on here who doesn't drink....?

That's like 1000 points, right there.

The pictures are excellent, too.

Rather than do anything about it, though, I figured my best course of action is to turn this into a philosophical exercise for no reason.

My policy is to never write to anybody first, since that never goes anywhere, and my other policy is not to waste time on people with blank profiles, since that's almost always symptomatic of some other underlying issue that I don't want to have to deal with, like they are actually from Russia, or are my ex-wife pretending to be an actual human being.

The worst part is that she's actually in my state. Not a "local" exactly, but close enough that a teleportation unit might not even be required.

I thought those people weren't even supposed to look at my profile....? What happened to the rules, people?

Sounds like a rebel without a cause.

Maybe she just joined and will fill out the profile later.

I say break the rules and email her first,I have been on almost a yr. and just recently have been talking with several people from my state.And I speak for myself but I will not send the first email,still kinda old fashon that way.But I wish you luck

don't know until you try... just email & chat until you know there isn't something underlying that you don't want to deal with....

i have found that that sort of stuff comes out pretty quick... & isn't that part of the point of this 'online dating'.... you can find some of that stuff out before they know where you live.... & can stalk you or something like that....

you can always block them if they get to weird....

I was sort of hoping that she might see this, too; but I don't think she has ever posted in the forums, and I have no way of knowing if she's a lurker. Figured it couldn't hurt, though.

ah Lex I know it can be alittle intimadating but if ya don't get a foot in the door you might find out later her doorbell is broken
