Simple

A woman who's able to stand on her own two feet, support herself (and family if necessary), and think for herself. By herself. Though emotional support of friends and family is perfectly acceptable.

Ok, just had to clarify.

I am divorced, but use to doing everything myself anyway. I have been on my own since I was 16, so I cook, clean, laundry, mechanicals, basically you name it and I do it.

So I am certainly an independent man. And I don't require much, simple, a true genuine "thank you" and I know its really appreciated, I'm as happy as they come.

Well i say that its nice to have someone to lean on in a time of need, its also nice to have someone that needs to do the leaning...

as far as the "i can do it myself" person,

my grandpa used to say that a true gentleman will open the door for a lady

my grandma would say that a true lady will stand there and let him

so then we understand.....perhaps..

Will have to admit, would be kind of hard for me to do any "leaning", simply because I'm not use to that and have basically always had to reply on me. Don;t get me wrong, I have great friends in my life and they are there if I ever need them. But I only have always leaned as a very last resort.

Would be nice not to have to be the strong one all the time, but I just don;t think I would know how to do that. Too many years being the leaning post..not sure how I would react not having to be the strong one. Might not be possible at this age.

But will always treat a woman like a lady. Thats built in too. So there is a good thing that will never change.

Independent means she doesn't NEED you for ANYTHING, she WANTS you for yourself. An independent woman is not going to say no to a door being opened for her but she knows she can open it herself also. An independent woman is going to change the oil on her car because it needs to be done or like me do the tune up herself. If a man wants to do it for me and he is not being condescending about, I will let him but if he makes it seem as though I am beneath him because he does it for me then to hell with him, I will put on the grubbies and do it myself.

Independent is a mindset. An independent woman can be just as feminine and womanly as any other woman, she is just a little more independent is all. Instead of asking a man to do something she will do it herself.

I hope that helps, I am not sure who you ran into on the buses or what not but that is not the mindset of an independent woman, she will accept the seat from a man if offered but if not she can stand just as good as the man can, do you see what I mean?

But ya it's all the difference between need and want

I cannot have a nail break, looks terrible and I am not always available to run to the nail shop and ask Mrs. Lee to fix it, lol.... Work to much. I can easily go to the quick lube down the street and drop off my truck and they can handle whatever needs to be done with it, and I can pay for it...

that is my plan tommorrow ladies!!
they will even rotate my tires!!


of course i dont have to worry about my nails, too many germs under acrylic nails.....
