What are some of the things you've experienced on JSH as far as generalizations? I, for one, have experienced the age bias. Everyone generalizes 18 year olds as immature and incapable. Everyone hates me because I don't kill animals, or put out. you dont put out? Rarely haha I see Do you really? eyes wide shut

Excuse me? I am neither immature OR incapable, and I don't think that I have shown otherwise. Get it together. no one is saying you are immature. I think you're great. However, if you read and pay attention to what I said, you will understand. You have no idea the changes you will go thru from now until 30, and 30 to 40, so on and so forth Everyone changes over time. It has nothing to do with maturity level or capability, and his question was concerning the maturity and capability level of an 18 year old, not whether or not he will change in the future. With that said, I think 18 year olds can be very mature and capable. I wasn't one of them, but I know a lot of very mature 18 year olds.

Some are much more mature and capable than others, that is true. But I think Jill's point is that when they get to be 30, they look back at what they once thought of as being mature behavior, and they think "What the heck was I thinking?"
