I thought I was "stuck" in my ways and habits. I had a great job, making the best money I had ever made, Living by myself in a cute little place, no TV, just music and internet. I was reading every night. I read 15 Danniell Steele, and about 13 John Grisham books in 2 months. Had a cutey down the way, when it was time for, you know, and then Dad had a stroke and Life changed as I knew it. That's ok though! I now am in a warm place with more opportunities than I had before. So much for being "stuck". Oh, what a relief!! Such a great attitude! |

Many of us over 50 folks; have been thru enough & hopefully learned from it. So we have a different outlook on life.

I would guess I was set in my ways, but I've changed my whole set up. It was necessary, I believe it keeps things new. The whole retirement thing and moving to another sate, even though the move was/is temperary. I look forward to the future and stability is my best friend!

I think I have become reluctant to compromise on a lot of things, because I compromised so much for 26 years. I am now going to insist on compatability, shared interests and shared beliefs. If I had insisted on those things 26 years ago, I might not be looking for Mr. Right at this late date!
Compromising on these important things just encouraged/forced (?) me give up bits and pieces of myself over the years. I'm only now learning who I really am...I won't sacrifice myself or give up my life for someone again! Compromising on whether to sleep with the window opened or closed, where to eat or what movie to watch? Not a problem. Much is open for negotiation. Deb |
