I'd think that they just contributed to the "Homeless crack and/or liver damage fund". And that's kewl...it helps to kill them off faster which makes more room for the rest of us

Ooops. I misread it. You said, "Offer to buy a sandwich". I have carried McDonald's gift certificates in my wallet to give to homeless people. They go towards food instead of giving money to spend on "other" items. |

There are some that I might give some food left from my lunch or some snack when they approach the limo when im stopped at a light beggin for change. In really cold weather ... I have given them hothands to put in thier gloves or pockets.
I will not give cash for this reason: A man asked for change or sold pencils/pens all day everyday. At night he would go home to a skyscraper penthouse. The man was a millionaire and would dress as if he was homeless. I see street people get handed cash bills all the time .. they probably bring home hundreds a day. How do you know if they are legit or a conartist. |

Ever since my daughter was like 4 and asked about the homeless people with the signs saying they were hungry and she wanted to give them her muffin we've packed extra food in the car so we can hand it out. It teaches her good lessons....so I'm not as comfortable handing out money even if it's spare change, but I'm not going to thinking badly of someone who does.

OF course homeless people can make around $30 panhandling...
now on a regular day I dont spend $30 a day on just myself!! and I work!! $30 a day and no bills at ALL.. hummm maybe i changed my mind, i possibly would think my date might be a little silly... but as alwys its the thought that COUNTS!! |
