the question is...did i misread your contradiction Well for one addicts think partying is a good excuse for all things. Saying they made bad choices is also used by addicts as a method of making others believe they are changing or trying to change or maybe that they are changing. What contradiction? you said that ALL addicts say they make bad choices...that's not accurate. then you say they can't can't personal responsibility. is that not a contraction? Addiction is considered mental illness in most circles. Mentally ill people do not realize that they do things to hurt themselves in life. Saying they made bad choices can mean alot of things. If she is really claiming responsibility good for her. But that does not mean that always. I am still not seeing the contradiction. and you will never. but it's not ALL or ALWAYS. I am recoverying from an addiction myself. i know what an addiction is and considered. do you know from personal experience or just what you were told? and NO not ALL say they made bad choices unles they are reaching out for help or recoverying. you are the one that used the term always |

i don't know of any DOCTOR that would diagnose someone like that and say it's OBVIOUS instead of POSSIBLE. I don't know any doctor that would diagnose anyone without a thorough battery of tests, a personal and family history, and thorough records examination. Some do brain scans, as well. But none that would read a blurb from an article and say mentally challenged or mental issues. Nope. I don't know those doctors. |

Oh and my step-mother comes from a family of seven. When her dad died they went on welfare. Was she mentally ill? Was she promiscuous? Did she have problems functioning normally? Alot of things would have to be considered. Who knows? and how do you know the woman has problems functioning? again YOU said it was OBVIOUS...not POSSIBLE Regardless to all the other conjecture. How many women do you know that have 12 children with 7 different fathers? That is not normal living nor is she thinking before she acts, those are signs of problems in the woman, whether you want to consider it or not, it is signs of problems. |

Stop cutting and pasting articles that have nothing to do with the point. It's beyond ridiculous. They are relavent. how about IN YOUR OWN WORDS answer the questions asked of you...like the contradiction you made in your diagnosis of the woman in question she was saying it in her own words you attacked those words now she post scientific research and you attack said research ------------- if one has their mind made up and refuses research thiers or others then their arguments are void substance and i asked her to explain them. but what someone writes isn't always accurate. she made her judgement and contradicted herself. that is what i asked her several times about. i know from first hand experience...not from what i was taught |

I was trained to identify mental illness so that is about as factual as it gets but look it up, it is there for all to read. Trained by who? The Social Services Department? So that makes you a certified expert on mental illness? Don't make me laugh. Actually your tax dollars sent me to an accredited school for it. Aren't you glad???!!!! are you ignoring that lilth has training as well? Not discounting her training at all. I had special extra training for this because I was part of an advanced program designed for identifying mentally ill. My training was beyond normal welfare caseworker training. If she had had the extra training she would have identified it herself. Not saying bad or wrong just stating the facts I know. The facts are you may have been trained to identify what you think may be symptoms, but you aren't a trained mental health professional. Even the professionals misdiagnose from time to time and you aren't even one of those. You can't diagnose, you can't treat. So you really don't have any room to say the OP is probably mentally ill, because really you have no possible way of knowing that. |

That is not normal living nor is she thinking before she acts, those are signs of problems in the woman, whether you want to consider it or not, it is signs of problems. Poor decision making, lack of forethought... is all I would assume. |

That alone signals problems. I would definitely refer her for mental health help that is for sure and it would help her I know that. |

i say she spread her legs and found religion after she discovered having twelve kids can put a real dent in the social life.Welfare usually looks for the dad's but i don't advocate cutting off money because the only ones who get punished are the children.I would get her a job at a mattress store since she seems to have some expertise in that field.

there maybe problems...but YOU diagnosed her as a sex addict without having the information or qualifications. you tell me I'm wrong when I spoke of what I have personally seen or lived through.
i DO know what I'm saying about my examples and I won't sit here with someone telling me I'm wrong for what I know. |

Well apparently you may be mentally ill as well, since you are just now finally admitting that your earlier assertion may indeed be wrong. |
