Dump the "nice guy" theory, use common sense, and have fun. Keep your kids out of your adult, dating business until you get serious with someone.

Even though I don’t have kids, I have a strong opinion regarding the image of minors being on an adult dating site. I think the parent’s job is to protect their child from not only possible predators but to also shield them from adult activities (ie, dating).

For one, a parent never knows what type of perv can lift the picture and do ‘who knows what’ to the image – and then repost the picture on a pedophile site. Its happens.

Also, as long as a member indicates in their “stats” that they have kids, I think a single parent should avoid the focus of their kids on a dating profile. Kids shouldn’t even be a part of the dating picture until a relationship turns serious. It’s a turn off if a person identifies themselves only because they are a parent as well. So many screen names with “SuziesMom” or “DadToBobby” is definitely a sign of someone who does not individuate being a parent from being an active adult.

There are so many opinions on this topic, but as a former single person who was looking for a partner, this topic was a real issue for me (and I assume others).

Avoid shirtless pix too - even the guys with a six pack and smooth, hairless torsos are not getting positive attention. It has nothing to do with your audience being prudish; it’s just a matter of context. I love a hot bod as much as the next girl, but on a dating site, it seems “icky”.

Regardless of the opinions and comments you get on this topic, you will modify your profile a lot until you find what works for you. You will find that certain text and pictures will attract the wrong type of girl while other changes will start to attract the girls you are more interested in meeting.
