Pretty easy, actually. A lot of the words when they're spoken sound almost identical to the English word. The problem is that they have different meanings for the same word depending on context (formal, informal, professional, etc.). i know. where we have 1 word that means a bunch of different things, they have a bunch that mean the same thing. and the damn local dialects are murder. they don't even sound like the stuff you learn in a book or off of a cd. . . . Figure out where you are moving and listen to the news from that area, helps in picking up the dialect for that area. But, yes, they are absolutely murder. i think that as long as you learn the proper way to speak, you can pick up the rest over time. you just may sound a little goofy to begin with. . . . |

if i get to the door before the woman does, then i'll open it for her. if she gets there first and stands there looking like she expects me to open it for her, i'm going through it first. courtesy works both ways.
as for pushing in the chair, get real. it's 2010, she can scoot herself up closer to the table. . . . |

I am waiting on a man to ask me out in person, pick me up for said date, take me to a place of his chosing, treat me like a lady and kiss me on the check as he drops me off, after walking me to the door.

i get ignored too. i've gotten to where i just don't give a sh|t anymore. phuk em if they don't want to talk to me. it's their loss. most of them aren't exactly what i'm looking for, but at least i'm willing to give them a try. if they can't do the same, too bad for them. . . . |
