An acquaintance in work has this saying. It goes 'why settle for the pig when you can have the sausage'?

What she means by this is that while she wants someone in her life, she just can't see herself living with someone again and (worse case scenario) turning into someone who picks up his socks, puts the toilet seat down after him and makes his dinners.

To a certain extent, I agree. In the here and now, despite wanting a relationship, for various reasons, I can't see myself living with someone again and turning into a reincarnation of a 21st century Stepford wife - and I know relationships don't have to be that way but I am of a certain age and a nurturer so for me, I do have Stepford wife tendencies.... Which is why I can see myself in a committed relationship but living in separate households.

What about you? Do you want the pig or the sausage?

I want the kind of sausage that makes the pig worth owning.......blushing

to answer the question, I have

Im not the one to love a stranger , I really have to love WHO they are , and I cant know that just upon sight.

I have been deeply in love thrice with the person I got to know, not with the shell I initially observed,,,

While I agree wholeheartedly with "you have to know who they are before you love them" I guess the responses so far should make me change Shakespeare's wisdom a little bit

"Who ever loved that lusted not at first sight?"

Better??

I love a lot of the pictures taken with friends when we're out, most of them have twitter and Facebook and I don't mind being in their posted photos, I don't have either twitter or Facebook due to the nature of my job....none of them care that I use photos with them in them for a dating sites' forums....

Not everyone is here trying to date....some of us just like the forums smitten

Might I ask what is the nature of your job and why aren't you allowed to have you image displayed. I've seen this written many times and wonder what kind of employer can feeling ok to enforce such a ruling?

I've answered your question via private message...waving

I would take all of my online friends on a vacation together. I've always wanted everyone to share a group meet. It would be the only way everyone could afford it at the same time.

That sounds like an orgy plan..tongue2

The Shakespeare thread in another forum made me think of this quote...and the truth of it.

That initial spark of electricity.....I'm not talking about flings...I'm talking about long term relationships......

I find wisdom in this quote.....it has proven true for me....your thoughts?

Ive noticed a trend with profile pictures......most men seem to post pictures of themselves with others doing things or a picture that was taken of them by someone else.....women seem to have profiles filled with selfies.....Do you think women who's profile photos are all selfies are photoshopped.....or do they have no lives and no friends?

***im talking the 40+ YO crowd....thoughts???
