Living in The Netherlands and having had a GF from Romania, i can state that 2 cultures THAT different don't work. getting her to live here with me took a lot of hurdles with the dutch immigration office, and after 3 years (the period she had to live with me before she could file for an independant permit) she was gone.

which made me conclude: 'she didn't love ME, but she loved my passport'. as a result of what happened, i put up sort of wall around me to prevend this happening to me again. IF i were to meet someone from outside my part of the world (i.e. Western Europe), i think things will not work. (mainly becaus paperwork and the suspicion like: 'do you love ME, or do you love my passport?')
