My Treasures
Each day I count my treasures, the things that I hold dear. Some are just those silly things, that I like having near. My old stuff and my teddy bears, the things upon my walls. The things my grand kids gave me I truly love them all. But these are just “things” in my life, And if they were all gone, It wouldn’t be so terrible, To, without them, carry on. The things that are most meaningful, My blessings from above Are those that God has given me to care about and love. My daughters and my grandkids, Bring meaning to my world. My dogs are here and love me, They are mommies “little girls” I have a few great friends in life, I’m fortunate, I know, They’re here for me, through thick and thin and when I’m feeling low. I may never win a Nobel prize, Or find a cancer cure. But though you may not see them, of one thing I am sure. I have done things that are wonderful, Though they’ve not been publicized, I lived, and laughed and loved a lot, So no tears, please when I die. When I leave this world, And all I know, to be with God above? I have left a lovely legacy, A legacy of love. Wendy Haines 12/30/2008 |

Well where are ya'? I don't know for sure how or when it happened? But I have become a "NUT" magnet in my old age! I seem to attract those who have no clue what truth is, or who just wanna play! Where did I go wrong?

My son was an avid guitarist. The bands my son was involved with, practiced in our basement. When their drummer couldn't make it, they let me sit in on drums and vocals. We had a very special relationship. My heart will forever have this hole in it, that I can only fill with memories now. His Fiance' went home from work on 8/18/04, and discovered him dead on the couch. The autopsy revealed that he died of an overdose. I can only imagine her pain.
DOES HEAVEN HAVE A ROCK BAND? Does Heaven have a rock band? Do musicians get to play? Do they hang out around the throne of God, and learn new songs each day? Are there “Heavenly” harmonics? Are their chords “out of this world”? Do they sing some heavy metal songs, or more “angelic” words? If musicians up in Heaven DO play heavy metal songs, I wonder if the man in charge joins in and sings along. If they do the more “angelic” type, Do they sing them all alone? Or do the angels come and sing along to make them feel at home? My son is a musician, Though he isn’t here on earth. I’m SURE he has a guitar up there, and plays for all he’s worth. I miss the music that he knew, The songs he used to play. One thing that keeps me hangin’ on, is that I know one day: I’m gonna go to Heaven, And hear him play his songs, And once again, he’ll be playin’, and singin’ with his mom! By Wendy Haines 9/9/2008 |
