Hmmmm
I have a question... How CHALLENGING are you? Do you make others work at it to get to know you? To earn your respect and have you open up to them? Is there anything that would indicate a thrilling chase with an awesome prize at the end? Are you MYSTERIOUS? Those are all good things to help you get OUT of the friend zone....with new people. |

Almost Homeless

Job hunting New York man dons suit, tie and a sandwich board By David B. Caruso, The Associated Press NEW YORK - After nine fruitless months of looking for work, Paul Nawrocki has turned to a Depression-era tactic to find a job. Over the past few days the 59-year-old businessman has been walking the sidewalks of midtown Manhattan wearing a suit, a tie and a large sign that reads: "Almost homeless." "My unemployment benefits are going to run out in less than a month. I was getting a little panicked and I didn't know what to do," said Nawrocki, who was laid off from his job at a toy company last February. "Finally I said, 'I'm going to put out a sandwich board and try to sell myself in the city,"' he said. "I had to do something dramatic, because I was getting really discouraged sending my resume out every day, and not getting anywhere." The sight of a middle-class businessman down on his luck seems to have struck a chord with some New Yorkers. Nawrocki said he's already landed interviews with recruiters who saw him passing out his resume on the street. A business news blogger posted an item about him, which led to more coverage on BusinessWeek.com and an interview with the BBC. He's gotten encouragement from regular New Yorkers too. "People here can be very warm here when they see that someone is genuinely vulnerable," said Nawrocki. "I've seen a lot of people look at me and get scared, too. Not of me, but you see it in their eyes. They are thinking, 'Could it come to this? Could this be me someday?"' Nawrocki, who is married with a daughter just out of college, spent 23 years in the toy industry, mostly as an import operations manager. He made a good salary at his old job, "almost six figures," he said, but has burned through his retirement savings since losing his job at the Sababa Group in February. The company filed for bankruptcy in August. As for the "almost homeless" line on his sign, "It's not far from the truth," Nawrocki said. His wife has health problems that limit her ability to work. The family has big health insurance and mortgage payments coming due. "I don't know what's going to happen if I don't work in the next few weeks," he said Thoughts? I feel bad for the guy, you know that if the company went bankrupt, he didn't get a very good severance cheque. And living in NYC is not cheap either... I hope he finds something... |

Ever Cheated?
|
|
As there is already a thread about being cheated ON, I'd like to discuss being on the other side of the fence, being the one who made the mistake.
What were your reasons? How did you feel afterward? Did you tell your partner? Were you in an ambiguous relationship where it was considered cheating only by how upset the other person got when they found out? How did you deal with their emotions? How did you take care of rumors and slander going on about you later? Did you guys work it out or did it totally melt? I'm of the opinion that there are degrees of infidelity. For instance, a man who flirts and receives a naughty pic from an online pal is more forgivable than if he went and slept with his ex wife and everyone knew about it. Then there's the guy that got loaded on boys' night and went to the strippers, which is more forgiveable than the guy who gets his teenage babysitter pregnant.... Or the one who danced with the most beautiful girl at the bar versus the deadbeat dad who still samples baby mama on the weekend visitations... What are your personal limits on physical infidelity? What about emotional affairs and flirtations? |

It is a catchy tune for sure!
I heard Katy Perry's mom and dad get on their knees and pray for the salvation of their heathenish daughter EVERY TIME they hear the song on the radio! That seems a little much, besides water on the knee, I'm sure that's inadvisable while driving or standing in front of the boss mom! |

The only thing that really bothers me about the shirtless pics are two things.
1. Rarely if never see that they have anything above the neck in their pictures, essentially you are talking to a torso 2. They are never natural and relaxed in their picture, always straining and "flexing" to try and look like they got "abs"...Half the shirtless pic guys really should cover what they don't got up! Most women will NOT decide to date a man because of his physique, we aren't wired to be just visually attracted and aroused, we are more tactile sensory...and emotional! I find there is a delicate balance...you like someone first because they are funny and make you feel special, then they are becoming more and more sexually attractive to you until, one day if some god awfully rude person says "Why are you with him? That guy over there is hotter" you honestly won't know what they mean, because your man is the best looking in the world FOR YOU... uh, off track long post short, its winter time boys, put on a sweater! I don't wanna see icicles forming off those pasties~ |

My stepfather is and has always been an abusive alcoholic and marijuana abuser. All our money went to payfor his habits first, then the bills. My parents are going through bankruptcy, and my mom left him in August. The last 4 years I have given them hundreds of dollars a month to help them try to make bills, but he smoked it away instead. I only just found out about the drugs, but I had suspected.
I hope now that he has lost his house and his family, my stepdad will smarten up. I don't expect to ever see the money again, but I do wish he would get himself a life (I mean that in the nicest possible way too) |

Ever been cheated on?
|

I have been cheated on. My husband (waiting for divorce to be finalised) has a new baby with his affair, they have been living together for a year now.
Im not going to bother forgiving him, and I have long forgotten him. It's not worth my time to think about him and at the time, I was more furious at the fool he made of me than anything. |

Well
I don't BEG for anything...and I rarely if ever ask for permission to do anything, I am my own woman... But in the interests of argument, I would say forgivness, because you already did what you weren't supposed to do, which you wouldn't have been ALLOWED to do had you asked for permission, which was likely fun! |
