It depends on so many circumstances... especially if you're both invested 100%.. if you've met and everything was "right". If you are "perfect" for each other... if there is a future where you can both be together...
Otherwise, it probably wouldn't succeed. :(
Such is life...

Is homosexuality a sin in God's eyes

If He is to be in this conversation, then you need to ask Him.
Otherwise, it seems, our opinions matter more.

I do believe, personally, that one day they
will find some kind of chromosome marker or
something that places a person on that pathway.

Well you should seriously ask yourself, if he would be with me while he's married to someone else, what's to say that down the line he won't be happy to be with someone else while he's with you?.

Of course it could be that you do have a super special deep and everlasting love, BUT, occam's razor, when you hear hooves expect horses not zebras.

It's far more likely that this guys a cheating scumbag.

What do you think of long distance dating and relationships?
Personally I believe that it is possible though it does require a lot of commitment from both sides.
Please let me know what you think?

I believe they can work, but it depends on the people involved and if they want it to work, it is not an easy option. However, you can learn a lot about each other by email, telephone calls and video Skype calls, and before you decide if you want to meet up. The down sides are the time and costs of travel and hotels if you do decide to meet each other if you live thousands of miles apart, and the possible long time between meetings. You certainly have to meet several times in my opinion before you really know whether they are the one for you. The question you must ask yourself before starting a long distance relationship is if you are prepared to relocate if your partner cannot, because if all goes well you will want to be together at some time in the future.
