Note how you mention only 4, maybe 5, of the 10. The first 4 can be safely regarded as "religious": apart from the fact that they are the artifacts of a particular set of religions and therefore not consistent with other religions (there are ploytheistic religions, idol-worshipping religions and those that are fine with working over weekends) , there is also the fact that they come from any religion at all, so they do not apply to people with no religion. Then there are religions that don't have gods. Also #5 may not make sense to orphans and/or abandoned children.

With 5-6 of 10 out of the picture, it is not necessary to view these as the essential basis for these values while other sources (some of which predate this) are already available.


Good question. If you consider religions that urge people to kill (others, their own children, etc) or place loyalty to religion above loyalty to country, chop off the hands or heads of criminals, etc. you may feel this is actually good.

I have seen at least 3 patterns of potentially abusive profiles/posts which may not be obvious to all.

1. Those inviting contact through email outside the site : typically used by the "Nigerian" 419 scammers.
I saw two "matches" today from profiles I had never seen. Both turned out to have very similar text in them. So I did a web search for part of the text ("no one that likes anything more than a social drink or two") and, surprise, found all results only on mingle2.com.

2, Those providing a phone number, urging to call directly: typically used to harass the real owner of that phone number.
I saw a post in the forums today by a (new) member urging others to look at their profile to find their phone number. While a quick reverse search matched the phone number with the name in the profile, there is no way to tell that the user of the profile is indeed the same person . If this suspicion turns out to be true, naively contacting the number could result in police being called. I have heard of many cases where girls/women are subjected to such harassment - the original culprit publishes their number and then only the men who call the number get involved in further complications.

3. Those offering "escort"/"massage"/call-girl etc services : I'm guessing this is not what the site is intended for.

So, my question is, should such profiles be reported?

I guess there are at least 2 usages of the word (in the sense of describing a person as a genius), one somewhat subjective-qualitative and the other somewhat objective-quantitative. The first would be a general acknowledgement of the person's superior abilities/skills/... in a particular field or activity (or maybe just about anything they do?) and the second something like a ranking by Mensa.

You are talking about the second kind here, in which case the tests don't seem to take into account how the person arrived at their answers - so a genius level score should mean genius.
