I agree with Mr. Good Guy that those were probably all scammers. Don't waste your time with messages that generic.

Everyone has their comfort level. I have never been willing to jump straight to phone calls or video chat until I've gotten to know them first through the platform's messaging feature. But once both of us do reach that comfort level, I'd rather go straight to video chat.

Feeling physically exhausted just thinking of the two hour journey it will take, but it will be worth it. Even if it ends up being a very warm day.

Hope it goes well! If it makes you feel any better, I often have to take 22-hour journeys. Sometimes I have to do it when I'm sick, and it suuuuuucks. I'm so over international flights.

Everyone knows that Nobody is perfect...

And everyone knows that relationships mean having compromises, where we give and take equally in the relationship...

So why not try meeting someone who's half serious?

Surely that would get you more dates, and more chances of finding someone close to your hearts desire?

What's the point of having a strict checklist if no one can tick all the boxes?

Keep in mind that there's...
1) Always a "right time" to be serious...
2) Never a wrong time to be not serious and have a laugh :joy:

So many questions and so little cake :cake: :joy:

I mostly agree, but I disagree that there's never a wrong time to not be serious and have a laugh. I love a great sense of humor, but if I'm hurting I do not want someone cracking a joke.

Do Pandas have any survival skills? I only see them eating, falling off of things and rolling down hills.

I actually know the answer to this. I used to live in Chengdu, China, which is where the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is located. I love that place! Who doesn't want to visit a bunch of adorable pandas in a beautiful wooded sanctuary? Baby pandas are the cutest things ever!

Panda survival instincts are just climbing trees, and they can also swim. I guess the fact that they don't hibernate would also count as a survival skill. They also used to eat meat, but dwindling prey combined with massive growth of bamboo forests caused them to change their diet. Pandas evolved and soon lost the ability to taste umami, the savory flavor in meat. So now they are mostly herbivores. That would be another survival skill.

This morning after waking up at the crack of dawn (0700 / 7.00am) for work...

I took an executive decision (a short while ago) to have the day off... :joy:

I now feel I have what it takes (except the cash :moneybag::pound:) to be an executive...:sunglasses:

Sounds legit to me. But 0700 is not the crack of dawn, Sir. I wake up at 5:30. ohwell

Watching a big foot documentary...

Thinking maybe we should tie a girl in a yeti suit to a tree in the park :joy:

And see if bigfoot comes to rescue/kidnap her :joy:🤣

Have you ever been to Animal Kingdom park at Walt Disney World? There is a ride called Expedition Everest, and there is a big scary yeti in it. It's so awesome!

Your post makes as much sense to me as your username.

It actually makes sense to me, because I'm the same. If you met me in real life you would probably assume that I'm an extrovert. I'm very friendly and outgoing and can converse pretty easily with strangers. I teach first grade, so that probably gives you a little insight into my type of personality. But I am definitely an introvert. Being "on" all the time drains me. I will avoid social situations whenever possible.

Some do! Like 12 years ago I dated a guy who I'm pretty sure was asexual. He didn't want to do anything more than kiss occasionally and hold hands. Yeah... he was not a good match for me. bigsmile

Glad to see I'm not the only one that happened to, lol. Although back then I hadn't thought of asexual on his part, I took it somewhat personal. That for some reason I just didn't ignite that spark of passion within him. The baffling part was that his behavior before we became a couple suggested the total opposite.

Definitely doesn't work for me either. laugh bigsmile

I definitely would have taken it personally too! Except for the fact that he told me on our first date that he doesn't like sex and has never liked sex. He said he's only had sex twice in his life and decided it wasn't for him. He was a really nice guy so I hope he found someone who was a better match for him.

I think the hardest part of dating is sifting through all the scammers.

A lot of people don't pay for dating sites. You can still find someone. I've had the best luck on sites that have forums. People can get to know you a little from your posts and you can make friends that might possibly turn into something more. So I highly recommend that you post in the forums!

Good luck to you! flowerforyou

I have to seriously side-eye anyone who claims that they love "unconditionally". Would you actually continue to love someone who stole all your money, or intentionally set your house on fire, or abused your child, or killed one of your loved ones? Any reasonable person is going to have "conditions" and boundaries on love.

I agree with you about people using obscure words out of context. They are just asking to be mocked, in my opinion. bigsmile

Feeling kind of bad. Due to several reasons my teaching assistant is being switched to a different class and a different TA being moved to my room. She's very sad and doesn't want to leave my class. I feel really bad. But as naughty as my new class is this year, if I were her I would grab my bowling bag and get the hell out of there. laugh

Checking out accommodation options. Luxury cabin, Deluxe RV, Standard RV, or a rustic fishing cabin? Decisions, decisions, hahaha.

Yeah yeah yeah... W laugh The luxury cabins are super nice, all wood interior. Best of two worlds, luxury and nature. Huge discount with 7 night stay. Mostly pro's on the pro's and con's list. Only con is I would have to cook to offset the cost grumble laugh Oh, and there's a community firepit in that area, no private fire pits allowed. So I wouldn't be able to dance nakkid under the stars around the fire laugh

Thinking you most definitely broke it, clicked on it too many times. laugh

I would love to stay in a luxury cabin for a week or two. That's Mark's and my ideal setting. But the ones we've checked into are expensive! Hope you end up loving it!

big problem of Indian youth is No sex education and porn addiction. what do you say?

I ould say in this day and age keep a close eye on who is educating them and if the cirriculum is suitable. In the uk and us in some schools they have drag queen story hour to promote lgtbq. And it could be argued that good sex ed could awaken a curious childs mind into further self exploration thus confounding porn addiction. These are not opinions i hold just words

I'm pretty sure the drag queen story hour was in a public library (not a school library). And she wasn't there to promote LGBTQ+. She just read a story like normal. Definitely wouldn't bother me if my child were read to by a drag queen. A lot drag queens are wonderful with children. No one is forced to take their child to Story Hour at the public library. It's always optional whether you take your child to a public library.

rofl

Thinking it's time to invest in a few coffee cups... one for each day of the week. Plus a spare for when you run the dishwasher laugh

I have that many coffee cups! Not fun having to wash one every time I want coffee. This way I can wait a week if I need to!

OT: Thinking the second day of school went much smoother. Yesterday sucked! I've got a pretty hard class this year.

I've been wondering what people nowadays think about relationships. Do you believe the man is the head of the house, the leader, and the wife submits to him as his helpmeet? Like, that's what the Bible says, but it seems like so many people find that as old fashioned. As for me, I think the Bible is as up to date as ever, and life would be better if we followed it. What do you all think?

I think it's up to the individuals. If you're happy taking a more passive role in a relationship, that's what you should do. No reason to take on a role that you don't want.

I've tried it both ways. When I was a young mother I was a stay-at-home-mom for eight years. I was MISERABLE. For me, I'm not at my best if I don't work, if I don't feel like I have my own identity besides "wife" and "mother". I need a fulfilling career to be happy. Looking back, I think I did my kids a huge disservice, in staying home. I was depressed, had low self-esteem, and I felt totally dependent on my husband. When a person is not at their best, they are not the best role model for their children. Now my kids respect me a lot more because I'm educated and have a career that I love. I'm just happier having more facets to my identity.

Since my marriage ended, I have never entertained the idea of dating someone who valued traditional gender roles. I'm not interested. I might bake the cookies and decorate the house (because I enjoy it and he doesn't) and he might look after the cars and the finances (because he enjoys it and I don't). But otherwise I want a relationship where my partner values my intelligence, feels like my career is as important as his, and treats me as an equal partner.
