Big Joe ( joethebricky ),
Your very welcome pal. Yes, on those occasions Walt was called in by the president to write scripts for his speeches. I've always wondered what those speeches were. I'd love to peruse them and look for Walt's signature style. Factually though, I Have read bits and pieces of past speeches by Lincoln and I swear to ye to this day I do recall a bit of Walt in some. That's just off the cuff though. Ok, Big Joe, be well pal. tommo / Ireland |

Attn: Mingle2's 'Poems & Creative Writing' - Excellent Moderators,
Please allow for this poetry related message as it relates to a clean request by a good solid person of this forum, ( joethebricky. )I felt rather than carrying these photos - with accompanying message in reply, below his comments, in the previous message stream, that it might reach him more broadly as a new topic instead. Big Joe - ( joethebricky ),
I guess my favorite among good solid poets of their eras would be Walt Whitman. Walt, ye may recall, used to write political speeches - on occasion for then president Abraham Lincoln. I mean aside from Walt's stellar attributes as a writer/poet. Another big favorite would be, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882) . But, big Joe, there are so many others. Here's a shot of those mentioned in this message - including US President Abraham Lincoln . . . === Walt Whitman ![]() === Henry Wadsworth Longfellow ![]() === U.S President Abraham Lincoln ![]() === Thanks Big Joe, be well, tommy boy moran / Ireland |

PacificStar48,
Thanks so much for your comments and ye know I appreciate them. Noticed ye visited my Mingle2 page popping in for a quick look-see. I visited your page too. In fact, I spent around 10 minutes rough-housing a message to ye and then when I clicked to send it - turns out I don't meet your age requirements. Too bad, Pac. The message was complimentary as it should have been. Anyway, be well and thank you, tommy boy moran / Ireland PS: tommyboymoran.home@outlook.com |

Datwasntme,
Thanks pal. Appreciate it. Bog season is soon upon us once again over here in Ireland and I'll be out in it ' footin' turf ' as I do every year. Got to keep the fireplaces full. ![]() === SuzQ66, Yes, I do try to keep this beard trimmed to some respectable level, otherwise, we're talking literally, ' down to my knees.' This piece is very heartfelt and deep. And I am so very deeply troubled in all I've read here. But let's always know that in terms of your writing style and your own personal grace, I feel good feeling troubled. This is what poetry is all about. And, you've captured the hearts of many a smaller bird, and so, we must hunger - always, for more. I am just such a fledgling sparrow in flight. Thank ye, Godistheanswer. This is truly work worth kinder, wholesome disposition. Ye work hard and therefore should never go unnoticed as we thusly move along t'gether - in night. Well done, Darling. Well done. You are to be commended. tommy boy moran / Ireland |

Big Joe ( joethebricky ),
Thank ye so much. Yes, this one does have feeling. You see, Big Joe, the old one awoke before dawn and knowing it was her time gathered her things and left the teepee - and walked on down to the river. There she stood reliving moments of her life's past misery and pain. And then, after a while, when she was ready, she lay herself down under that weeping willow - and died. Thanks, Big Joe. tommo / Ireland |

Nicely constructed and with a good solid flow - don't ye think? I couldn't in the world figure out it's author is though. And yet, somehow I think of you, IamwhoIam1. Could that author be you??

I Walk These Narrow Paths ( In These The Autumnal-Days of My Years )
Immersed in shame, found bound this day by my need to kneel in my aloneness and pray, I assert to the masses this loathing of the rich, those pimps and those decadent, odorous whores, Who profess their lives to be deeply blessed, but who'r found lesser, and thus they, Rather than we - by all notion and natural decree, are meant to sacrifice and so must pay, I do now close my warrior fist toward them in anger, those wealthy bound by the raw arrogance they display.
