Probably for the same reasons women wear makeup.

Everyone seems to have high expectations.
Guys want young and pretty; women want well off and secure; most real people on here are just average, only the scammers photos are attractive, so don't expect anything and you won't be disappointed.
I'm no looker, and have a weird sense of humour, and been on here for many years, and never met anyone. Had plenty of overseas time wasters and scammers though.
Just say you are a tall dark and handsome doctor and you will get some interest.

It is not too bad to meet nice people online first. But beware of disappointments. Someone, who was supposed to be a friend, disappeared all of the sudden ... but, this can happen in real life as well

A less than honest man will lie to get what he wants. And there are certainly a number of them on this site but the same goes for some women. There are a number of them here that also stretch the truth to fuel their egos.

i did find love online , but didn't pass her ignore me for a month test (old Asian test, that i didn't know about till after / 2 weeks in to it)...went from a minimum 8 hours video chat a day for a year and a half to nada ... <shrug> sadly never met her in person

other lady that found me online , i moved in with , but after 3 and a half years, i didn't last the Bipolar out break of 8 and a half hours screaming at the top of her lungs and the nicest word out of her mouth was that i was a piece of ****, and that was the nicest .... looking back it does make sense where her longest relation ship was under a year long


but its all good , live and learn , and hope to recall my mistakes as to in not make them again
