I posted this a couple weeks ago and nobody responded, I thought I was the only one who liked Dr. Horrible.

I didn't see it, sorry.

That's cool though, are you a fan of Joss Whedon?

Joss Whedon, creator/writer/director of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly, and the movie Serenity, wrote a short 40 minute musical during the writer's strike.

This musical is a comedy/ live-action spoof on superheros and villans with a hint of drama, stars Academy-Award and Golden-Globe nominated actor Neil Patrick Harris, star of hit show Doogie Howser, MD, who plays Billy, a science geek who aspires to become a supervillan under the alter-ego Dr.Horrible.

This episode won't be up for free for long, so watch it ASAP if you're interested. It's VERY very funny and will be worth the 40 minutes of your time.

It's also split into three Acts, so you can watch Act 1, which is only about 13 minutes long, to see if it interests you.

I highly recommend watching it. It's hilarious.

This is why you should never drop acid when pregnant. You get girls at the Wendy's drive-thru who repeat orders 70 something times.

It's ok. It was annoying, but HILARIOUS.

Last night was the STRANGEST experience I've ever had at a drive-thru.

Brandon (my roomate), Ron (my boyfriend), and I went down to Wendy's last night around 11pm because Brandon wanted a shake, and I wanted a chicken sandwich. We pull up to the ordering window, and I guess we're laughing for some reason and Brandon is INSISTING that I add tomato to my $1 chicken sandwich. I told him I didn't care either way, and when he orders my chicken sandwich, he tells the girl to please add tomato to that. And she laughs and repeats "Add tomato?" like 10 times before she will listen to the rest of our order. Brandon and I couldn't stop laughing, and she said "Sounds like you guys are having fun out there." She continually jokes with us about adding tomato, as if it's a strange request or she never heard of tomato before. And everything else Brandon orders (small fries, large shake) she repeats, as if it's strange that we're asking her for all of this food. We honestly didn't think she knew where she was, and we laughed hysterically until we pulled up to the pay-window, hoping she wasn't the one taking our money. But it was her. And she asked us what we wanted on the chicken sandwich again, and Brandon said tomato, and she said "Tomato? On the chicken sandwiches?" and we said yes and were very scared. She kept asking us if we wanted tomato, and then she told Brandon that our receipt would print at the second window where we got our food which was bull**** because she came to the front window to bring Brandon his receipt, and she asked Brandon AGAIN what we wanted on the chicken sandwich, tomato? And when Brandon started laughing she POINTS at him and tells the other people at the window "Look, that's him, he's laughing" like we're some kind of sideshow attraction. I'm pretty sure she was doing some weird kind of flirting with Brandon, or she was high, or both.

Needless to say, she didn't forget to put tomato on my sandwich. But she did forget my BBQ sauce.

If he insists on using one, do the research. Do a Comsumer Report check on the one this poster is recommending. If you can't get a good one in your budget, don't buy it.

I am doing research. That's why I'm asking for personal opinions.

It's more than you wanna spend, but look at two sources......one of them is Valentine. I've had the valentine one for about 4 to 6 years. It's fantastic!!! Saved me THOUSANDS of dollars!! I speed too....everywhere!!! No radar detector will beat "instant on" radar though unless it bounces off someone in front of you.....

Also try Rocky Mountain Radar....they not only have radar detectors, but radar Jammers!!!!

Both have websites.....

Everything else sucks or gives off spurious radar waves that can be detected!!! Regardless of price!!!

Thanks! That's very helpful. Aren't Valentines very expensive though?

I'm afraid they are....mine was $425.00 at the time.

So if I want to go for 200-250 bucks, I should get a Rocky Mountain. Do you think this is a good model?

It is illegal in CT, even to just have one in the car. I hope he never plans on going there. Your BF might want to just try staying with the flow of traffic. 95, 195, all those highways flow pretty fast except for rush hour. Far above 55mph.

I know you are in RI, and the tickets are pricey. Honestly, if the cops see he has one, that is a very, very, very very good way to single yourself out and get pulled over.

I know that he has to be careful, that he'll get pulled over if a cops sees him, but our friend has a radar detector and he lives in Providence and he hasn't had a speeding ticket in years, since he got the thing. And my boyfriend has the worst luck, he'll speed up just for a few minutes to get in front of someone, and a cop will stop him, or the speed limit will change (we go from MA to RI and vice versa all the time) and a cop will stop him the second he's in the section with a lower speed limit. He knows the consequences and that he needs to be careful, he just has been wanting one and I think he'll appreciate it. I just don't want to go spending 200 bucks on something that doesn't work.

You seem really cool!

Though seaweed fights are NOT my forte (because seaweed is GROSS) I like everything else you like.

And your profession is cool.

I was wondering if any of you use radar detectors in your car because I wanted to buy one for my boyfriend's birthday. He speeds a lot, and needs a detector that will just warn him when cops are using radars to check car speeds so he can slow down when they're around. I don't want to spend more than $250 on one. Do any of you know of any good detectors? Is there a certain brand I should be looking for? I was trying to look online for reviews and on amazon.com, but they're inconsistent, and a lot of the reviews have both satisfied and unsatisfied reviewers.

I heard, though, that Cobra sucked. And while Escort is a good brand, they're usually expensive. I was thinking of buying a Whistler. They're relatively cheap and seem to have pretty good reviews.

Do you guys have any suggestions on a radar detector that has worked for you? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

Oh, and please no one respond to this post of you're going to criticize me and my boyfriend for speeding and trying to find a way around getting speeding tickets instead of just going the speed limit. Or if you're going to criticize me in any way. I'm just looking for advice on a well performing detector. Thanks.

Are sick of hearing men/women complaining about what comes with being a man/woman?

Because, seriously, why don't we just deal with the things we can't change? They're really not a big deal.

I don't mean to sound *****y or anything, but all everyone does is complain about things they can't control. It's better to try and have fun with you're life because complaining isn't going to change anything.
