Was up? who is home tonight?

Well there is a flip side to everything. Sometimes I think it'd be
great to have no responsibilities, but that would mean not having the wonderful children that I have. It'd be great to have tons of money, but I wouldn't have the things that mean the most to me around me. It would be great not to work, but then I wouldn't get to hang out talking to everybody and getting paid your tax dollars...uh, never mind. |

I'll tell you, I had the perfect date once. But maybe it's too secluded
for you, but for future reference,it might be something worth doing. my town is sprawled around a mountain, with "scenic drives". We took a picnic dinner to the top and ate in the back of a pickup truck, with the lights of the city and river all spread out below. I took some votive candles and put them on the rock retaining wall. It was quiet, peaceful, beautiful and romantic, just us 2 and the stars overhead. and even "senior couples" can enjoy it, just don't forget a ladder to climb into the back of that truck! (I'm talking about me, not you) |

Where in Texas is she? It's a humongous state! We drove across it
once, Left El Paso at 7 a.m. and hit Texarkana at midnight. |

Morena, where in Ny are you? I have only been there 4 times, my oldest
son went to West Point and so that is the only area I ever visited, lol, besides the empire state building and the statue of liberty! Cold!!! I took enough clothes once for 7 day visit, and by the 2nd day, I was wearing all of it, pants over pants over pants and 5 shirts under 3 coats!! I was the michelin mom!! |

Plenty of room, lol.
I work with a guy in a band, they have gigs in Austin and all around Texas. Lots of opportunity here. But nothing like the LA area, the talent there is everywhere! Does she know about the recording studio in Fabens, Texas? You should ask. |

We are going to a town 40 miles up the road to the regional band
competition. There is a restaurant there that is a real dive but has the best Italian food in the texas desert. So we are going to watch 10 of the best high school marching bands compete in a college stadium with 10,000 other people. I think I'll be comfortable enough with that. Plus he's from work, and if he gets fresh (or doesn't get fresh, whatever) there's 200 other guys that will beat him up for me. |

well Houston is nice, close to the gulf beaches, but geesh, you can't
hardly walk down the street without losing something. Watch, wallet, purse....Austin now, kind of stuck in the 70's, with willie nelson, and cool concerts in the park, politics, I love to visit there...maybe that's why, places you visit are always so great, until you move there and have to make a living, no more disposable "tourist" dollars. Well, I am stuck here for 2 years, then the plan is to move on west. Need some rain dam it!! |

Yup, she must get out of Houston. Crime rate is out of control there!!!
So much to do in Austin too! You'll have to go visit, a very laid back cool city. I'll be in Houston over thanksgiving, thankfully, only 1 1/2 hours going and 3 hours coming home!! i'll try not to get shot! |

well, if ya gotta have the cold, this is not the place for you! I moved
to Denver once, in January, froze my whatsis off, lasted 2 weeks and went to the California beach. I'm just a beach person, love the water. Guess I've been in texas too long to acclimate to cold weather. And I don't have any sweaters either. :) |

And...to the topic of Halloween, I work at the water utility, and we
give toilet rebates for changing out high water use toilets, so we decorated the office as the "haunted out house" , made an outhouse out of the front door with toilet paper and old boots on the floor, and are all dressing as Hillbillies, complete with a hillbilly waterless urinal (potted plant). Hope we win the $20. prize, it's cost us about $60.lol |

Weather is absolutely beautiful here, everyone come down for a visit!!
Cool, sunny days and cool, clear nights. Stars are out and all is calm. My patio door opens onto the swimming pool and fountain, so I have the tranquil splashing of water to soothe the savage soul. Very dry compared to the rest of you!! It's a beautiful night. Very happy to be here. (here, and on here!) Bless you all. |
