Professional Drivers...
|
|
My hats off to the real professional drivers... Not only do they have to contend with smaller vehicles but they also have to contend with rig's piloted by idiots. So many trucker schools... Lots of unprofessional drivers on the wheel. Just today... Seen a driver attempt to corner in the same way he would have with his car... Can you imagine where his trailer went? (one less signal light to contend with this week). Seen a driver take a small box under a nine foot bridge. He he he... Got the cab through, left the trailer behind (along with a four foot section of the bridge). Lots of times I'll watch a trucker at a red light turn in front of oncomming traffic and stop everyone... When they could have just waited for the darn light to change and HAD the right of way. Oh..I love the bridge thing!! I have seen that a few times! there are always going to be idiot drivers around, and the driver mills are generally sponsored by the industry! sad sad sad...they can put drivers in one of their trucks and pay them little per mile to drive...it is sad... yet, the people who drive an RV need no special license or training... so, the big RV that is pulling a boat, pulling a trailer, pulling a car behind it...yea...that is an accident waiting to happen!! I personally, feel there are a lot more professional drivers than idiot drivers...maybe not, but I think I will believe my delusion... I have seen a driver "straighten" out a new driver a few times...sometimes, they just need some direction!! My husband and I owned a small trucking company. I never drove, but I tagged along when he drove a lot of times. The things you see from the cab of a truck. Oy! It's awful how we mandate how long a driver drives and YET we make it impossible for them to stop and rest when required to do so. (No parking, no idling, etc.) I've known a lot of drivers who have been the first on the scene of an accident, the first to give aid, the ones who call for help, etc. Many a car goes tooling by when someone needs aid, but a trucker will throw his tight schedule to the wind and stop. Drivers often get a bum rap. For the most part, they are some of the nicest, most polite and down-to-earth folks you'd ever want to meet. Having just come off a 1000 plus mile trip in 92 hours (with some spots of sleep in a decent bed with good meals in between), I can tell you I could never hang with the Knights/Duchesses of the Road. My hat's off to ya'll who keep this nation going. |

Many thoughts and prayers going up, for the munchkin and for those that love him and are administering to him.

Walk toward the light. Just walk toward the light. (And put your hands on either side of your face just in case).

I'm more upset over the dog than MJ. The dog didn't hasten her demise with drugs, I'm betting. Hmmm...so the fact that I have all these isms means I can stay zoned out on any and every drug I can spend other people's money on, and it's okay? Nah...I'd rather deal with the pain and have a life. |

I wish to goodness I had some kettle corn right now! (Sigh. Off to the kitchen to find a "healthier alternative," i.e. the empty kettle corn box). |

When will this end?

When will this end? As in fighting in general? When we are down to one person, and then that one person will probably shoot themselves in the head because they are so lonely for human companionship.

Vengeful lonely people whose only happiness comes from other's misery. Yep, that stuff's spreading faster than piggie flu. |

I'm getting "better" at hiding my feelings. Used to be that no matter how hard I tried, my eyes would "flash" and I'd get red in the face if angry. But then again, a lot of stuff that used to get to me just doesn't anymore, so that helps.

Naw, Babe, it's the left. And even then it doesn't necessarily mean a heart attack...that too can be associated with stomach issues...but you don't want to take that chance.

If you start having pain or numbness in your left arm on top of the heaviness in your chest, you need to seek medical attention immediately. Same goes for pain in your jaw and neck.

On a sign of a business downtown it says... "Lawn mower repair and income tax service" How did they ever combine those two?? What, somebody went in there one day and said "Gosh, you did such a great job on my mower, I think I'll let you do my taxes!?" That's even crazier than the one back home that's a shoe store/snack bar. I never ate there...figured whatever they served would taste like shoe leather. |

brain aneurisms

Did y'all know that worrying about brain aneurisms increases the likelyhood that you will have a brain aneurism by 75%. Don't argue, it's science. Already had one. Survived it. Don't worry about having another one because there's not much I can do about it. If it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen. I'm gonna die somehow someday...probably from using a sharp object to get the "sealed for your protection" crap off a bottle of ketchup. |

You still need to set standards & make sure they are met. Tough love works, I know. This is very true. I went through some similar things with my son. You have to hold their feet to the fire. They will thank you later. (My son certainly has). Good luck and know that there is light at the end of the tunnel for the both of you. |

ive been using this site for a couple months, and im not having much luck :{ Well it's not the McDonald's drive-thru of hook-ups, if that's what you're after. It takes some time to make friends, get to know folks and develop a relationship...one that's gonna last anyway. |

“What's good about the law is that permitted gun holders can't drink so if we see someone with a gun, we're not going to serve them,” said Schorr So now in addition to your designated driver, you bring along your designated packer. Sure does involve an awful lot of people to allow one person to drink! Maybe I should move home and start a designated driver/gun toter business. |
