download the compiled dll here - http://www.zlib.net/zlib123-dll.zip

next time just google the filename and you should be able to find the compiled library.

It's my opinion that there are no New Yorkers left in New York. At least in the Manhattan and parts of Bklyn. Anyone else peeved by it?

Discuss, talk amongst yourselves (out loud that is).

let me start off by saying two things - go to windowsupdate.com and get your O/S patches up to date. The easiest and most common way to get a virus/worm/trojan/etc is to have an out-of-date system exposed to the internet, as in this case where it looks like there hasn't been a variant in about a year and a half.

2nd, get a decent antivirus program - someone suggested AVG (free.grisoft.com) before, install it and make sure you keep it up to date.

here's a removal tool from symantec, they usually work pretty well as long as you FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS.
http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2004-021816-1759-99

and I found the above using a simple google search:
http://www.google.com/search?q=Win32.NetSky+removal+tool

good luck and remember, this is how you learn.

thanks for the heads up...glad linux doesn't have a registry to infect ; ) not to say there aren't trojans and worms for *nix systems, but I don't have worry about all these fun windows worms and nasties.

if you're using firefox, download the adblock add-in here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

no-script is worth checking out as well, but can get annoying if you like things to "just work" - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/722
