It is VERY hard to watch a loved one die. I had to watch my father pass away 2 yrs ago. He was 89. I suggest you talk to others, friends, relatives, even strangers if you're the type who can open up. Time is also a great help. Also there are usually support groups, people who are in the same circumstances as you. Give them a shot. It might be very good for you.

I'm older, but I love today's rock. Staind, is one of my favs (got to see him in concert - pretty damn cool) plus Seether, Evanesence, Disturbed, Rob Zombie ummmm gee I have a lot of favs - lol.
