Been there. Ick and yuck. First rule I had to make was
IF YOU ARE GOING TO KEEP LEAVING DISHES IN YOUR ROOM, GET YOUR OWN DISHES. Got sick and tired of having to search through there just to find a plate to eat off. Second rule LEAVE IT OUT AND CONSIDER IT GONE Yup, tossed a lot of stuff in the trash to keep from tripping over it. Other rules were made as they became necessary. When he was little CLEAN YOUR ROOM OR ELSE I WILL letting him know that anything I didn't understand got thrown out. Happened once, he never left anything out of place after that. How was I supposed to know those sticks were his cherished pretend "arrows"? |

However they should go first to a persons family while
he/she is in detox (thus notbrining in income). Why? Most of these families will just go on state support anyway. “then it should go to the detox program, tohelp cover the costs and whatnot.” Oh hell no!!!!! Those programs are a racket and not much more. The success rate doesn’t even justify their existence. One of the most famous when it comes to skewing statistics. E.g. They could be claiming an 85% success rate (with the “of those interviewed” in very small print). Those interviewed will probably only be the ones that they could keep straight long enough to get through the interview. No mention of how many they couldn’t add to their statistics. Last time I went far enough to find the actual numbers, that 85% was of a mere 6% that were actually interviewed. Cold turkey at their own expense (they could afford the drugs/alcohol so why not the treatment) is the only rehab method I would ever support. “did you know that you can receive a fine similiar to dwi if they find you on the side of the road or in a parking lot pulled over an sleeping as long as the keys are in your posesion .” Not exactly true. Just throwing them on the dash board so you are not in any way “controlling” the vehicle works. Not really that hard, but you do still get a ticket for an illegal stop/parking if you do it in the wrong place. Just pull out at a rest stop or something. “sad that a drunk will try to make it home because of this” More often because they are too arrogant to admit that they can’t handle their liquor. The old ten feet tall, bullet proof and invisible attitude. “are also good ones who just got in the wrong place at the right time.” You’re kidding right? No matter where you are you shouldn’t drink and then plan to drive. I agree with the sentiments regarding premeditation. |

"Give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breath
free" No matter how many times I read this, I do not find the words “opportunistic criminals”. “It doesn't mean illegal immigration. It means *unlimitted* immigration. It means it's wrong of us to put any requirements on those who want to get into this country, other than that to prove they're not dangerous criminals.” Nope, not even close to the intent when the French gave it to us. Might want to check the actual history on the statue. “What they're doing wouldn't BE illegal if we'd actually practice what we claim.” You mean like actually enforcing border control so they wouldn’t be able to sneak into the US in the first place? That would be nice. |

And I completely agree with you Barbie. Like I said, what I saw were
self inflicted injuries (which is what caused my complete lack of sympathy, and a considerable amount of disgust) for the sole purpose of trying to gain the pity of the tourists so they could work them for a few bucks. It was like they TRY to make themselves worse off, or at least give the appearance. Should be putting their energies into improving their situation instead of just acting like bums. |

Last time I crossed the border and went to Mexico, most of what I saw
was a bunch of people, most with obviously self inflicted injuries, some even so minor as a bruised thumb, shoving these "injuries" in people's faces, while they held out the paper cup they were begging with. Made a very definite impression on me. I didn't see anything that would have slowed me up in my work, and didn't understand how they could claim that something so minor kept them from being able to feed themselves. When I saw the boy smash his hand with a rock, grab his cup and head for the tourists, it really spoke volumes as to how those people just want us to feel sorry for them, to the extent that they play/phony this crap up so much. |

"Yes and the federal government should eliminate all those SSI benefit
checks to alcoholics and drug addicts. JMHO!!! " I agree with all posts with this sentiment. But while we are on the subject, let's not forget that justice is really for sale in the US. He who has the most money wins. I personally know of a case where a man killed two other men, and permanently crippled a third, while driving drunk. He never did a day in jail, even though he was found guilty of 2 counts of "vehicular homicide". Why? He had $1,500,000 worth of insurance to pay off the victims. Between that and the fact that he was a high ranking local in the courts, guess they thought he was "special". |

I have two theories as to why this guy is being persecuted.
1) PCism has become nothing but reverse discrimination. or 2) It was a publicity stunt to get attention for the station, and after a bunch of noise about the right to freedom of speech for EVERYBODY, Imus will be rehired. |

"There are benefits in this equation which far outway the costs."
This is nothing but a flat out lie. They don't pay in as much to the system as they steal from it. They do take jobs, and we in no way NEED them. We don't need their drug runners and smugglers, we don't need their rapist and murderers. We sure don't need to support every family that sneaks a pregnant woman across in time to have that anchor baby, much less do we need to learn Spanish or see our flag flown upside down. I have never seen any benefit to anyone but crooked employers who make money off the cheap labor. I certainly don't believe that they keep the costs of goods down. Supply and demand determine costs, the profit margin is just something that benefits the top people collecting the profits. |

But you can also negotiate with them. Last time I got the bill for the
yearly fee on one card, I called and told them to cancell it instead, as I already had another card that didn't charge that fee. All of a sudden, they dropped it so I wouldn't close the account. |

I agree with the OP, and think that is how it should have been handled
in the first place. Too bad we can't just seal the whole region inside of some bubble so they can just go at it and the rest of the world won't keep getting drug into their mess. |

Co-ed at that age ok with COMPLETE supervision. My problem is with it
going on until midnight. My youngest is 13, and still not allowed to go to parties, only daytime group activities, and won't be until she is a few years older. Even her brother didn't go on his first date til 17. |

The Imus situation is just a perfect example of reverse racism,
something that is rampant in the states today. If one group can use words, all groups can use them. Or do black people intend to put whites on "the back of the VERBAL bus" now? Are they now trying to claim they should be the only ones given freedom of speech? Just plain sick and tired of all the double standards. |

I already barter. Wish more people did. It certainly would put
realistic prices on things now wouldn't it? LOL Would also be humbling for some who think what they do it worth more than it really is, realtors being a perfect example. |
