yah that's not Vegan but vegetarian.

Vegans consume NO animal products...that milk? animal product..that alone means he's not vegan.

vegetarians differ...they consume mostly veggies of course but their consumption of animal products vary person-to-person. Some stay completely away from all meats..some eat fish..some eat eggs..or cheese..etc.

either way make sure he's getting what he needs...I've known a lot of vegetarians/vegans that were "sickly" because they didn't get enough of something due to the diet...low protein is the most common.
