Also the Ottoman empire persevered alot of the knowledge lost during the fall of Rome and the dark ages. Natural selection is heavily influence the environment/ecosystem that a species is living in, and the changes of that environment/ecosystem. For example today pollution the destruction of habitats and climate change is cause many species go extinct because they can't adapt fast enough. The Dinosaurs went extinct because the asteroid that hit 65 million years ago destroyed the food chain as they knew it for several years, but there where some animals that could survive and adapt. Also some environment seem to support more diverse animals then others (a rain forest has a more diversity then a desert) but I'm off topic now.

No one really knows if we have more or less species on the planet scene we are always discovering a new species every day. But considering that when on species of a certain niche goes extinct then another species will replace it. So probably not? Then again for most of life's history it was bacterial and sometime doing the Precambrian the diversity of life increase greatly. It probably just fluctuates throughout history depending on the environment and conditions at that time.

That's not a enigmatic enigma that's just good old fashion ego. Everyone wants to fell as smart or smarter then the people around them, and hate it when they fell that their intelligence is insulted. Its also harder to impress a really intelligent person.

Just because God know what your doing doesn't mean you have don't have free will. Its just mean that he know what you're going to do next. IF knows what you're going to do next and THEN does something to change it then it mean you don't have free will.

A gross misinterpretation... I the bible states that its is by grace we are saved and not by works.

Also this focus on the heart of the person because at the time the Jewish religious focus on sacrifices and other rites and tradition witch while is not harmful itself, they people of Jewish faith just focus on the the just on the various traditions and not on the God that the traditions are about; a person can do the sacrifices and rites that they want to but if in their heart they're still corrupt then it is for nothing. The Old Testament heavily hints at this. A modern example is a person that goes to church on every Sunday but he still does wrong despite that fact that he knows better.
