Why do they make you feel so good.

I was having a really bad night,
my ex way trying to make me feel crappy
because I wasn't say what he wanted me to,
and just.. absolutely tearing me apart.

I felt so crappy, and I was bawling my eyes out,
then I had a nice hot long shower,
and all the negative feelings just went away,
and it made me feel so good.

Why is that?.. like, really.
