this morning I paid the person behind me in the drive through their order, and it turned out they were visitors from America (Mass) they caught up to me at the lights and said "thank you, that was really kind of you sir"

A couple with 2 young children.

that really made me smile and Im sure they will do that for someone else and make their day.

theyve learned how to manage a budget by their experience already. They could probably teach the middle class a thing or two about saving and cutting corners. I dont think you understood what I said, or what you said was true if you think the problem is budget management. the problem is not having enough money to sustain the minimum.

Klc,

I think you and shybutkind are correct

Shy , and I dont speak for her obviously is talking about the average middle class family, you are talking about the poorer working class family

many middle class and upper middle class family do live beyond their means, while many working poorer class are barely surviving.

I do agree a lot of those working poor who budgets for a living can teach the upper middle class a thing or two on how to budget and survive on less and not try and keep up with the joneses.

It’s a horrible rumor that debt leads to high credit scores.

My credit score is 820 and I’ve never paid interest in my life.

How? I use my credit cards often and pay them off every month without fail. In fact, Coffee, gum and donations to a jar are the only things that don’t go on a card. I pay no interest and get 2-5% rewards back on just about everything I purchase, by using the right card toward its biggest reward.

Dave Ramsey may preach against it, but only because he knows most people will not be strict enough with themselves to oull it off. It takes a lot of self control at first, but once it’s a habit, it’s financial bliss. happy

I dont know who Dave Ramsey is but everything else you said is dead on, I totally agree, Ive never paid one dime in interest on my credit cards and Ive had my Royal Bank visa since I was 21 and my American express since I was 27.

I buy things, pay the balance when my statement comes in , collect my reward points .

I was fortunate enough to have parents and grandparents who are good with money to teach me and my siblings.

And it sounds like you had a good mentor too.

I wish that all of our citizens have financial training to help them.

But if they had no debt to pay off, they could better afford 4,5,6 and 7 at least. They should teach the perils of accumulating debt and paying interest in school, IMO. Instead, we encourage kids to start using credit cards right out of school. ohwell

Amen to that Shybutkind, and the problem isnt just that they dont teach it in school , they dont teach the parents that too, if one is fortunate enough to have parents or grandparents who are financial savvy then its a little easier.

But you are right they should be teaching it school, and its a catch 22 situation, if you dont have credit you cant get a mortgage or a car loan at prime and if you cant get it at prime you give opportunities to predatory lending

Its just a vicious circle.

I feel the for the middle and working class of today who are stuck between a rock and a hard place, its a choice between doing something for the family together and having fun vs getting braces for your child .

I don't know if you're being obtuse deliberately, or if it's just an act.

This isn't about whether or not whether white cops pull over white people. It's about WHY white people are pulled over as opposed to black people. White people are more likely to be let off with a warning for speeding as opposed to a black person getting a ticket.

Guess what? White people go to court in front of white judges too. White people are more likely to get a lecture and a small fine from the white judge, whereas the black person will get 30 days in jail and a big fine.

White cops are more likely to shoot black people then they are white people.

Hopefully, a pattern is starting to emerge from the midst.

You told us earlier that you live in a racially diverse neighbourhood, are you getting pulled over a lot by the police in your neighbourhood?

I say find me a currently married couple that had sex on the first date that are still together and I will tell you that one of them was involved in an affair.

I find that people that can have sex that easily doesnt value sex and intimacy, is more about satisfying your urges than finding a relationship that connects on all levels.

Most people that has sex on the first date never last because sooner or later the sex fizzles and if there is no love, no bond, no deep friendship what do you think happens next?

Wow, you just know everything about people, motives and probably everything else huh?

no, not at all

Opinions are like ********....everyone’s got one ....there’s nothing wrong with having sex on the first date if that’s what you choose to do just like there’s nothing wrong with not...people are so judgmental of other people and think there way is the right way...too each it’s own mind your business I say! Lol

the problem is, the ones that have sex on the first date are the ones complaining that cant find a relationship that last, and they are usually bitter towards the opposite sex

I agree if two people want to have sex on the first date, knock yourself out, but dont complain or whine about not finding someone who is real or wants a real relationship.

Im not a judgmental person at all, I just choose not to date someone who thinks its fine to have sex on the first date without knowing each other.

for me, and I can only speak about my situation,I find that if a woman wants to have sex but wants to know me first and develop an emotional attachment first and if it takes time Im fine with that because when it happens we will doing it like rabbits and makes up for lost time

anyways just my two cents Canadian.3.5 cents American.

HAAAAAAAAAAAA,,, too many stereotypes to even address

whatever dude ..

but thanks for the TN statute, we will see what the Pitsburgh statute says ...

ummmm, that was a supreme court case

so IF someone was 'about' to attack me and had attacked others, and I shot him while he RAN AWAY , I should be charged with murder, because he didnt threaten ME by RUNNING AWAY ...

okay, I will take you at your word then.

And I said its part of the job they are TRAINED and PAID for and does not justify shooting running perps in the back.

I have been sexually assaulted TWICE in my life , by white males, it would be within the law for me to have used force against them for my protection

does that give me carte blanche to use force against any white male that I ever encounter who MAY be thinking of doing the same to me? No. it does not.

and Im not even PAID to know that.

Tennessee v. Garner, says differently Miss Harmony it covers the whole shooting thing what they can and cant do.

Do you know how many white folks and unarmed that have been killed by police?

there have been more whites killed than blacks, followed by Hispanics
why is it that Asians are not high on the list and Asians make up 5.6% of the population.

They are too busy watching their kids and making them study because education is important to most of them.

I didnt see that part of you being sexually assaulted twice, sorry to read that, but you have to right to defend yourself every time.

would it be the same if the guy was about to attack you and there were reports he raped three others and then broke into your home and you shot him as he ran away? do you think you should be charged with murder even though he didnt touch you but was in your house and fled?

Ive never said their job is hard did I?

All Ive said was they have a job where criminals shoot at them, and they've had colleagues and friends who were killed by criminals.

.

Its a list of careers people hold which are not 'easy' to do, but whose difficulty does not absolve them of doing it responsibly. the doctor who leaves a medical tool in a patient doesnt have the convenience of sympathy for how 'hard' his job is. The fireman who runs out of a building without trying to save anyone, does not get to be excused cause his job is 'hard'. and so on and so on. You accept a job, you understand how hard it is first and understand it, you get training and do the job responsibly. Period.

Even if responding to a shooting, it does not. should not give CARTE blanche to just fire at anyone who MAY be associated with the shooting if they are not posing a THREAT at the time.

and none of them have criminals shooting at them on a regular basis do they?

Doctors dont arrest patients, Firefighters are not called to apprehend criminals, even the military doesnt arrest civilian criminals
