The website of eHarmony is a wacky extremist christian site. These people are evangelical christian - anti gay, anti modernism, pro family, pro christian religion.

Not my cup of tea.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EHarmony

And if you are OK with the whole christian fundamentalism aspect of this company, you might be put off by the way this site operates.

What happens is you fill in a psychological profile (which according to my friend is VERY professionally done, similar to very good university psychology studies). Then, after you fill up your questionnaire, the site matches you with another person of opposite gender.

You have no say in the matter who you are matched with.

That really turns me sour on the whole eHarmony experience, even more so than the fact that the piece of sh*t "christian" Dobson endorsed the site and it is run by fundamentalist wackos.

Cheers!

Why not? Wouldn't it be great if scientists could prove the existence of a higher state of being?

Religion to me is a damper on science and the quest for human perfection and evolution. It is basically a break put on the human race so that we don't accomplish all the wonderful things we can accomplish... IF there was no religion in the world.

The bible is a fun read actually. Especially the old testament (the new testament is for pussies!).

Rape, lots of incest, when Jews conquer a town they literally murder all men, women and children in that town (its because god told them to....uh yeah sure of course).

Its a great story - the most violent and repulsive book on the market. I recommend all christians read it.

The new testament is basically a dumbed down, watered down version of the old testament. It was made specifically because the rulers wanted a docile, servile population, and hence "turn the other cheek" was born.

People like that shut up and know their place happy

There were a lot of religions before Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism of today, that claimed they have the answers to the mystery of life and offering an opportunity to worship the one true god (or gods).

There will be many more religions after modernity which will claim the same.

If you think that your religion is the true correct one, and all others that came before it or that exist now are wrong, there is a word I would like to use - but I will remain civil.

Think about this - if you were born in Indonesia, chances are you would be moslem (or christian), if you were born in India, you could be hindu, moslem or christian or jainist or any other of 5000 religions currently present in India.

But you were born in America, and you were raised a christian, so of course everybody else is wrong...

duh

of course money is important.
of course the richer you are, the less it is important to you.

but for some reason people seem to marry within their social status/caste anyway.

lawyers, doctors, professionals vs yuppie professionals vs low income folks.

just the way it is.
