in my life i've done everything to lose weight, from diet pills to eating disorders to just plain ole healthy eating! diet pills didnt work and just made me feel ill, eating disorders...well i don't need to tell you how unhealthy that is! and although it might have worked in the short term, i was miserable and very unhealthy, mentally and physically! the best way, i've found to lose weight, and i've kept it off, is to follow a vegan diet. although i haven't been a vegan for a few months now, i still haven't put the weight back on, though i've been very strict with calories and watching what i eat and being more active.
i've decided to go back on the vegan diet to lose another 14lbs. although i'm at an "ideal" weight now, its not MY ideal, and i would like to be a little slimmer.
i've lost nearly 6stone (14lbs in a stone) altogether, and it is NOT easy at all...although it gets easier once you get used to eating a new way.
good luck to everyone who wants to lose weight!!! its possible with some hard work and determination!

yes they can work, but you have to know each other in real life, just an online relationship is not enough of a solid foundation to build on. and eventually someone (or both of you) is gonna have to make a move to be closer together.
Although long distance relationships are hard work, harder than "normal" relationships, so be prepared. if i knew how difficult it was going to be, maybe i would have thought twice - but then you can't choose who you fall in love with and you can't choose where they happen to live!

LDRs are hard. i didn't want a LDR, i didnt even want a relationship, but i met someone who just happened to live quite far away from me and we fell in love. we make it work...our memories together keep us together and hope for the future keeps us moving forward in our relationship. the relationship has to be "going somewhere" for a LDR to work i think...and there are mainly alot of other factors to consider with a LDR other than the 2 people involved....like kids, family, work, financial constraints etc.

but if 2 people are meant to be, a bit of distance shouldn't have a huge affect on the long term! but be prepared because you will probably find being away from someone you love so much very very difficult.

wow jen congratulations!!

see my mother thinks that the only internet users are "those internet weirdo pervert types" or their victims! laugh

i like to hear a good story about a couple meeting and hitting it off for real! (although the sadist in me also likes to hear the stories that are the type you will "look back and laugh about someday" )

i am sure this has been done before...but i am a newbie so thought i'd ask! has anyone here actually met up in real life with someone they met online? how did it go? good or bad or painfully embarrassing stories welcome!

IMO marriage is only necessary if the couple are religious and its important to them to have their union blessed in a religious ceremony.
i am not religious so marriage is not as important to me. most marriages fail anyway these days, a piece of paper does not mean you are together forever. its love, the attitudes of the couple and their level of commitment to one another that dictates how successful they will be in lasting the distance.

most people are as happy or as positive as they make their minds up to be. so just decide to be positive and you are 90% of the way there!

any addiction which robs you of having a "normal" life or causes you and others pain is just as bad as the next. thankfully there is plenty of help and support out there for those who need it :-)
