A friend told me that I needed to look closer to home for someone to date. What do you do when the area you live is small and you have not met anyone you like? Is anyone willing to have a long distance relationship?

Ah heck, just move to Tennessee and shack up with me. This way you'll be close and we can start with the relationship easier.smokin

A long distance relationship, from my experience, can be very soothing to a lonley heart, but you have to be realistic. I think you should keep your options open, and be honest about it.
If you don't see a possibility of actually ever being together, then keep it to good friends in my opinion. Just having someone you trust to talk to is a very good thing.

i know what you mean by living in a small town.kinda hard to date when you know everyone and the ones you don't know are way too young!.

So does that mean no one thinks long distance relationship can work... I am not talking long term as in years just long enough to decide whether you want to be together... this is the 20th century... we have cars, planes and trains. It is not like I am talking sight unseen type marriage arrangement.

Long Distance Relationships(LDR's) can work if both partners are willing to put forth the effort into making it work. If someone lived half way around the world and you two met, let say this forum, and you through communicating you realized there is a connection, the only one stopping you from happiness is...You.

Myself personally I would go for it, but he would have to meet my list of huge expectations and many can't....LOL

Katertots so happy for ya!!flowerforyou This is one of those General Foods International Coffee Moments commercials

I've dated tons of LDR guys. It's got pros/cons just like local., just different ones.

LDR as in Boston, NYC, Vegas, Chicago .. it's hard no doubt. But as Singing says - Love will always find a way drinker
