Nice slice of life Robert. I have so many special ornaments-every year a new one. I can't leave any off because I'm so sentimental. It's making me feel guilty I'm not putting a tree up this year...maybe a message that I should do so anyway ![]() Have a wonderful Christmas with your precious lady. ![]() ![]() If this was a message for you to remember your tree with special ornaments, then I'm glad I could be of help with the reminisensce. I hope you have a joyous Christmas yourself Pam. As well as for you Katie Did...I hope you and yours have a wonderful Christmas too. |

Silent Night, Yeah Right

Silent Night, Yeah Right Twas Christmas Eve And I've been shopping all day, Boy am I tired I could use a break in every way. Got to play Santa Claus This will be the baby's first, Get a cup of coffee To satisfy my thirst. Mama's wrapping presents While my muscles are gettin' stiff, Building a playset Under the tree go the gifts. This is so special This being our baby's first, Chocolate chip cookies And milk for Santa's thirst. Baby is crying now Waking from an evening nap, She is being satisfied Feeding in mama's lap. Silent night, yeah right Santa will be here soon, It's not so silent here With her crying in the other room. Not long from now The playset will be done, Tomorrow on Christmas Day She will be having fun. Mama came in Bouncing baby in her arms, Looking quite frantic She's lost all her charms. "Almost through here, dear." As I finished with the playset, Putting it under the tree Hoping there's something I didn't forget. Mama said baby is sleeping That is a big relief, Almost ten o'clock Time for us to go to sleep. Not asleep thirty minutes Before we heard the baby cry, Looking at each other We shrugged our shoulders and sighed. Silent night, yeah right Mama went to check on her, Silent night, yeah right A long night ahead, I'm sure. Now the baby is giggling Thinking it's time to play, Doing what we can Getting her back to sleep some way. Now it's almost midnight She's starting to nod her head, Drifting off to sleep We'll take her on up to bed. Silent night, yeah right Guess what time it is now? Three in the morning We'll get through this somehow. The milk and cookies Are starting to look really good, I better leave them be For Santa as I should. Finally asleep again And now it is almost five, I'm wondering just how much That I am still alive. Silent night, yeah right Who heard of such a thing, Not the two of us Not one carol did we sing. Merry Christmas to all Hope you slept very well, Did Santa even come last night? Can't open my eyes to tell. Anyways, so you know There's no such thing as silent night, When you have your first baby Just tell someone "Yeah right." |

A Special Touch When the turkey is all gone And the Christmas tree goes up, The decorations come out As you drink from your coffee cup. You go through the ornaments Each with a special touch, They all have their own story And they mean so much. Baby's first Christmas Of a teen gone off to college, Smiling with memories You're proud of their knowledge. You still hang it each year Because of the love you shared, As with each ornament They are hung with care. The hand crocheted snowflake That grandma made for you, Is hung at the top of the tree Made in white and blue. Grandma is no longer here But her spirit lives on in your heart, The memories of each year Make sure they never part. As you hang the popsicle stick reindeer That your first grader made, Or that fluffy cotton snowman He made in fifth grade. Each Christmas comes and goes But the memories linger on, You share in your stories When the children all come home. When the tree is finally finished And the last ornament is hung, Everything has a memory Even the lights that were strung. So bask in the warmth and glow Of each Christmas past, Pass them on down with care So the memories will last. |

![]() no one should have regrets. the last real conversation i had with my father was an arguement over something petty. two days later he ended up in the hospital and was unable to talk. he died about two months later. i still feel guilty about not saying i was sorry before things turned out the way they did. I'm so sorry you had to face that Libra...I am just hoping she will come to her senses before she has to regret them. Thank you for commenting. |

Masking Scars

A beautiful creature Created by God, from Adam's rib, Yet, never to wear a mask Except for what God hid. Once the mask had been removed And she saw all of God's wonder, Though they were shunned from the garden Because of her blunder. But nevertheless, May the mask never be worn, For it hides her identity For whom she was born. Women never take the time To see their inner beauty God gave, Because what's on the outside Was the disguise he saved. ![]() Excuse me Carol I assume....but if you read into it like I was intending for it to be read, you would see that I was not meaning for it to be sarcastic. Yes, God put true beauty on the outside for men to admire, but the real beauty lies on the inside is what I was referring too. I have had girlfriends, wives and friends, that belittle themselves because they swear up and down that they are not beautiful. I always begged to differ with them because they do not see what I see and if they looked towards their inner-self, they would see they are more beautiful than Miss America or any Centerfold would ever think of being. That was the message I was displaying in that write. God forbid if I should write anything else. |

Don't Regret Yes, I know it will come to pass Maybe in this life time, You'll forgive and forget sometime soon And things will be fine. But, as long as you carry the grudge And demean me as the baddy, Know this, my first born child I'll always be your daddy. I'll always love you, dear one Until the day that I die, That's why I'm pleading with you And letting you know why. I've always been there for you Since the day you were born, Tucking you in bed at night And waking with the early morn. I was there through all bumps and bruises And all of your tears, Even through the thunderous storms Soothing all of your fears. With birthday parties and Christmas Giving what you asked for, The one thing I knew I could give Was the priceless gift of love. Now, you've grown into a woman Holding onto a little grudge, Forgiveness goes a long way But you won't even budge. You tell me to act like a father That's something I thought I had, Now, I feel I can't carry the title Of being your Dad. But there will come a time When I will pass away, No longer on this earth To walk another day. So, before it's too late my dear Learn to forgive and forget, Don't leave things unresolved It'd be something you'd regret. This is something I wrote for my oldest daughter who still carries a grudge around, for something I thought was right. Now she has disowned me and doesn't have a thing to do with me. I just hope I don't pass away too soon and she lives with the regret that she didn't forgive and forget. |

Black and White Do you own a black labrador And the clothes you own are white? Or own a white-haired dog or cat And everything stands out so bright? Are you a positive person But living like you're an X-ray? Or have a black cloud over your head With no room to play? In this world of indifference And racial tensions are always high, Why don't we put away the prejudice And live as black and white? Together we brothers and sisters Among this colored issue, Don't forget, we're all God's children Together, me and you. |
