Oh I so would like to be a widow!!!! That wasn't very nice was it?

No...not really.Wouldn't wish that on anybody.

Me neither Betty but I can't imagine being so hurt that you just wished that person would disappear forever. You and I, we were blessed in life, weren't we, even tho they left us...but only for awhile

Thats true Mary. You are right for sure. flowerforyou
Its just I even find the word "Widow " painful...its an ugly ugly word.

I know, I am glad I am not the only one to feel that way....I almost hang my head when I have to say, "I am a widow"....it is VERY painful!

I am so fortunate to have never experienced any truly painful trauma. I have witnessed a tremendous amount around me but never to myself.

I am not sure if this is good or not but I have only been in love once and she became my best friend, although I still love her unconditionally. When she has a man in her life we obviously don't see each other too much (like now) and when she is single we become best friends again. And no, she never, ever abuses the friendship. So, I have never had my heart broken, never been married and never had children. I am lonely but content. Still not sure if that is good or bad.

BTW, Mary and Betty. I love your new avatar profile pics.

It reminds me of a time when I was in my early twenties and my Mom wanted a bike so my Dad and I went and got her one. She came outside said, "Where's the bike", we pointed to the fence and leaning up against the fence was an old broom like in your picture but we attached a bicycle seat, handle bars with the streamers and a nice bell.
Of course the bike was in the back yard but you should have seen her face. Great memory.

OK, help me out here. I have been getting nudges and winks from two types of people and have already reported one who insisted on chatting offline. She deleted her profile the same night.

The first types are women looking for marriage from South East Asia, South America or the Caribbean. Them I can deflect and understand.

The others, like the one I reported, are 20 something bombshells from somewhere USA. So a 26 year old bombshell just nudged me and although I do not have a self esteem problem, I am sure she is not interested in a skinny, older guy from Canada. So I wink back at them, explain in a joking way they got the wrong guy and never hear from them again.

Any comments Tim? Do you get these too? What about the ladies, I mean really, a wink and a nudge with no message or follow up message?

Does my profile make me look like a sucker? I can't be fooled in this stage of my life. I am too smart for any of that.

Anyway, I just wanted to rant about this. Any comments?

is her name lifeisfun** by chance

yes, that's her...too funny. The pic looks like it came from a magazine.

What a beautiful night. I just got back from my walk. It is a comfortable 75F out with bearable humidity. I really need a walking partner for nights like this. I usually go for a bike ride at night but recently decided to do the biking in the AM and walking in the PM.

Hi Chris
Its going down to 13c tonight ,or 55 f.
Should be good sleeping wether.
How about getting a dog for your walking partner?
there not as much trouble as a women eitherbigsmile

My cat would not be happy with a dog and I live in an apartment. Too much responsibility as well. They need way too much attention like a child type of attention.

But Tim, a woman is exactly the type of trouble I am looking for. She can keep me in my place, frustrate me and remind me how often I am wrong. laugh

I'm so relaxed. 75F outside and just got back from a long walk. It is so nice out tonight with bearable humidity.

So, I'm thinking I am so relaxed.

This has been a fraud ever since it hit the airwaves on the Art Bell 'CoastToCoastAM' back in the '90s ... the translation of 'chupacabra' is 'goat-sucker' ... seen any sucked goats lately ... ? Haven't been many reports of 'em in the news ...

I didn't want to say it...but he's right. This video has been proven a hoax.

Is there a possibility of species we haven't found yet? Sure, do I think it exists within Chupacabra or Bigfoot? Not likely, but then again people still believe in aliens so what do I know.

When we see things we can't understand our brain likes to fill in the blanks based on knowledge and legends we have stored away. I think we have a powerful brain that plays tricks on us and it fills in the gaps with very imaginative images, which then become all too real to us and are difficult to dispel. Never underestimate the power of our imagination.

Just some food for thought.

I simply love quotes and have a collection that I use for inspiration. here is one I especially like by a great American:

Omar Bradley, who was one of the main U.S. Army field commanders in North Africa and Europe during World War II and a General of the Army in the United States Army. He was the last surviving five-star commissioned officer of the United States and the first Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

"The world has achieved brilliance without wisdom, power without conscience. Ours is a world of nuclear giants and ethical infants. We know more about war that we know about peace, more about killing that we know about living."

I'd HIGHLY recommend the book: Power vs. Force by Steven Hawking

It is all about the power of thought/spoken words - and the import and impact of each, every single thought/spoken word ...

The book concerns itself w/ the premise that via kinesiological (muscle) testing - the results for the precise calculation of any given word's vital force quotient can be gauged ...

Positive/healing words vs Negative/destructive words ...

On a scale of 0 to 1000 ...

Positive words only begin at 200, anything below has a negative impact ...

The higher the vibrational frequency, the more life giving the word ...

Positive thinking is so important, it is CRUCIAL!

And? Positive thinking really is a cumulative tapestry of carefully sewn positive words strung together!!!

A fantastic, uplifting and life altering read and concept ... flowerforyou ... Guard your mind!

Thanks, I have added Hawking's book to my list of "to read"
Hawking is an amazing inspiration. What I like about him most is how he attracts people from all walks and life and demographics. Also for a man of his intellect, he speaks and writes in terms that most anyone can relate to and understand, which is a difficult task for most mathematicians and scientists.

Thanks for the book suggestion.

BTW...the author is David Hawkins but what I said about Stephen Hawking above still holds true.

Shower in the morning and after a bike ride. I started having navy showers a few months ago where you get wet, turn off the nozzle on the shower head, lather up, turn the water on again to rinse.
I managed even to take the fun out of a shower.

Hi Mary, Vivian, Chris and Tim. I hate Mondays! I just thought I would share!bigsmile

Sorry to hear that. Want to share why Monday's are bad or was it just today?

I am going for a short walk to loosen up. Be back in 15-20 minutes.

I would also like to add that I use self-effacing humor in many situations for laughs but also as a way to diffuse tense situations or insults.
The problem comes that after awhile, it may become self defeating in a way as well. Is it possible that after many years of doing this, I can then begin to believe some of the things I say about myself?
I have seen that some people who don't know me assume I have low self esteem which I don't really have, simply because of my humor. Do I have doubts from time to time? Yes, but I have a good sense of self esteem.

Is this why many stand-up comics feel depressed? I once had a 30 minute stand-up routine written (it was on a floppy disk that was corrupted and I lost the data but I am rewriting it) that was very self-effacing.

Food for thought.

This is extremely interesting. I try to pick the words I use carefully as well.
As an example, I never say anymore "I don't have time for...." I instead say, "I haven't made the time for...." or something similar.

Thanks for the article and it has already inspired me to dust off an old article I started to write about how I have have learned to use language more carefully.

Thanks again.
