Does anyone not get the irony of the topic with it's title? "Topic: Scientifific Bible evidence." ![]() so far the only scientific evidence thats been presented is that humans may have written the bible They are still writing it today...uh, this time to exclude the liberal Christians... "The Conservative Bible Project is a project utilizing the "best of the public" to render God's word into modern English without liberal translation distortions" http://www.conservapedia.com/Conservative_Bible_Project |

AGAIN totally missed my point. No faith will not pay your bills or anything else, but do you have faith that you will get the bills paid, faith that you will eat again, ect ect. it's you that keep missing the point...you just claim that faith will not pay your bills.....so what is the point in having faith that your bills will get paid....unless you believe that having faith will cause your bills to magically get paid....and that is called witchcraft Faith isn't something magical. All faith is, is hope backed by some form of evidence. Faith doesn't specifically pertain to God or anything, it is a general word. When people make plans in their lives, they have faith that they will accomplish those dreams and so on. so faith is nothing more than fooling oneself into believing in a positive outcome ...that's called hope Faith is more so educated hope. But yes, faith and hope are pretty much the same. Hope and faith are mighty strong emotions. and just as faith "educated hope" is still for the hopeless also hope and faith are not emotions....where do you get this stuff from? Emotions = Feelings Faith = you FEEL so and so will happen. Thus faith is an emotion. It's a feeling. Also you can say "He is faithful that this deal will go through". Thus another example of it being an emotion. Too funny. That would be "He has faith that this deal will go through" Maybe if they could read and comprehend well enough then they'd not be all messed on the bible thing. |

if your going to "take someone out", don't tell them when the media is around.... This goes along with the RW Nutbag's assertion about "second ammendment remedies" (in case their votes do not work). It was just the usual suspects in America calling for violence now even their candidates are... "Sharon Engle says you should NOT get Unemployment benefits because it makes you lazy!! This woman has proposed to (if elected): 1. Stop Social Security 2. Get rid of Unemployement (in the middle of a horrible recession..!..?) 3. If she doesn't get her way, the TEA PARTY should use their "Second Ammendment Rights and take out Senator Harry Reid. This woman could very easily play the leading role in: "ONE FLEW OVER THE COOKOO'S NEST Part II - The Tea Party Generation." Know what baffles my mind? Most ALL Conservatives claim to be Christians. Jesus said to care for the poor - over and over again in the New Testament. So, how come the Conservative Tea Party Republican "Christians" don't give a flying Hoot about the poor?! As if it could not get any weirder...
"(CNN) – A confrontation Wednesday night between New York gubernatorial hopeful Carl Paladino and a reporter threatened to turn physical. The dustup was captured in an exclusive cellphone video by CNN affiliate YNN Albany. It began with New York Post statehouse columnist Fred Dicker pressing Paladino to back up an explosive allegation he made to the Politico website Wednesday that his opponent, Andrew Cuomo, had taken "paramours" during his marriage to Kerry Kennedy. "Do you have any evidence of the charge you made?" "You'll get it at the appropriate time. You're not entitled to it," retorted Paladino, who then derided Dicker as Cuomo's "stalking horse" and "bird dog." The confrontation escalated from there. "You send another goon to my daughter's house and I'll take you out, buddy," an apparent reference to the Post's coverage of a daughter Paladino had out of wedlock. Dicker shot back: "You gonna take me out?" "Yeah." "How you gonna do that?" "Watch," Paladino ended with, before walking off. The Post declined to comment on the altercation. The Paladino camp did not immediately return a request for comment. Nor did the Cuomo camp." http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2010/09/30/paladino-spars-with-reporter/#more-125681 Film at eleven. |

The only reward for sin is death. Thus the world was flooded out, eg., judgement. And Satan still exists because if their was no evil on earth, then it would be like the garden of eden. And we were kicked out of the garden for disobeying our father, thus the reason God allows Satan to remain on earth. Satan will have his judgement in the end of times as well. that's what I said...if God kills/murder...a believer would view it as being love .... They got that covered...sorta...lol. Cryptic crap! Mercy "Blessed are the merciful" [Matthew 5:7] "Leave alive nothing that breathes. Show them no mercy." [Deut. 7:2] "The Lord hardened their hearts, that they might receive no mercy." [Joshua 11:20] "I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, saith the Lord: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, but destroy them. A curse on him who is lax in doing the Lord's work! A curse on him who keeps his sword from bloodshed." [Jer. 13:14; 48:10] ![]() Maybe Satan is their real master...clever guy! |

Hey, I didn't make this up...it's in the "book". Alcohol is a drug so therefore if you drink this drug you're a dope head. It's only fair. If you reply "Jesus made water into wine" and think that negates the "truth" then you'll be in good company when you arrive in hell (according to the bible). ~~~ “nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor robbers will inherit the kingdom of God” 1 Corinthians 6:10........ ...."Practicing What they Preach: Most Evangelical Leaders Abstain from Alcohol A family history of alcoholism and religious teachings were among the reasons cited by the 60% of U.S. evangelical leaders who said they don't drink alcohol socially, CNN reported June 24." Wait, isn't that also 40% of them who are going to HELL!... Question: "Did Jesus change the water into wine or grape juice?" http://www.gotquestions.org/Jesus-water-wine.html Answer: John chapter 2 records Jesus performing a miracle at a wedding in Cana of Galilee. At the wedding, the hosts ran out of wine. Jesus' mother, Mary, asks Jesus to intervene, and He does so, reluctantly. Jesus has the servants bring six jars filled with water and then instructs the servants to give it to the overseer of the celebration. The water miraculously turns into wine, and the overseer declares that it was the best wine he had ever tasted. In this account, Jesus performed an amazing miracle, actually altering the molecular composition of the water, changing it into wine. The point of the account is summarized in John 2:11, "He thus revealed His glory, and His disciples put their faith in Him." Usually, though, when this passage is studied, a side issue becomes the main issue. Did Jesus transform the water into wine (fermented, alcoholic) or into grape juice (non-alcoholic)? Throughout the passage, the Greek word translated "wine" is oinos, which was the common Greek word for normal wine, wine that was fermented/alcoholic. The Greek word for the wine Jesus created is the same word for the wine the wedding feast ran out of. The Greek word for the wine Jesus created is also the same word that is used in Ephesians 5:18, "...do not get drunk on wine..." Obviously, getting drunk from drinking wine requires the presence of alcohol. Everything, from the context of a wedding feast, to the usage of oinos in 1st century Greek literature (in the New Testament and outside the New Testament), argues for the wine that Jesus created to be normal, ordinary wine, containing alcohol. There is simply no solid historical, cultural, exegetical, contextual, or lexical reason to understand it to have been grape juice. Those who oppose the drinking of alcohol, in any quantity, argue that Jesus would not have turned the water into wine, as He would have been promoting the consumption of a substance that is tainted by sin. In this understanding, alcohol itself is inherently sinful, and consumption of alcohol in any quantity is sin. That is not a biblical understanding, however. Some Scriptures discuss alcohol in positive terms. Ecclesiastes 9:7 instructs, “Drink your wine with a merry heart.” Psalm 104:14-15 states that God gives wine “that makes glad the heart of men.” Amos 9:14 discusses drinking wine from your own vineyard as a sign of God’s blessing. Isaiah 55:1 encourages, “Yes, come buy wine and milk…” From these and other Scriptures, it is clear that alcohol itself is not inherently sinful. Rather, it is the abuse of alcohol, drunkenness and/or addiction, that is sinful (Ephesians 5:18; Proverbs 23:29-35; 1 Corinthians 6:12; 2 Peter 2:19). Therefore, it would not have been a sin for Jesus to create a drink that contained alcohol. A second, related argument is that by creating alcoholic wine, Jesus would have been promoting drunkenness, which the Bible clear identifies as sinful. This is not a valid argument. Was Jesus promoting gluttony when He multiplied the fishes and loaves far beyond what the people needed? Of course not. Creating a substance that can be abused does not make one responsible when another person foolishly chooses to abuse it. Jesus creating alcoholic wine was in no sense encouraging drunkenness. The belief that Jesus created alcoholic wine is definitely more in agreement with the context and the definition/usage of oinos. The primary reasons for interpreting it as grape juice, that alcohol is inherently sinful the creation of alcohol would have been encouraging drunkenness, are unbiblical and invalid. There is simply no good biblical reason to understand John 2 as anything other than Jesus performing an amazing miracle by turning water into real wine. Is drunkenness sinful? Absolutely! Is addiction sinful? Definitely. Would Jesus turning the water into alcoholic wine in any way violate God's standards regarding the consumption of alcohol? Absolutely not! If you'll notice Jesus NEVER got "drunk". It's not the alcohol itself that is sinful. It's the quantity we drink of it that is. We are to remain in a sober mind. So, all this from your little bible thing is a LIE? So since Jesus didn;t drink but made water into wine and gave it out...gee, that makes Jesus a Drug Dealer then right? “nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor robbers will inherit the kingdom of God” 1 Corinthians 6:10. “He shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried.” Numbers 6:3. “Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die:” Leviticus 10:9 “You ate no bread and drank no wine or other fermented drink. I did this so that you might know that I am the LORD your God” Deuteronomy 29:6. “Now see to it that you drink no wine or other fermented drink and that you do not eat anything unclean,” Judges 13:4. “Wine makes men foolish, and strong drink makes men come to blows; and whoever comes into error through these is not wise” Proverbs 20:1. “Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine and champions at mixing drinks” Isaiah 5:22. “But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.” Isaiah 28:7. “..and begins to beat his fellow slaves and eat and drink with drunkards” Matthew 24:49. “For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.” Luke 1:15. “And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.” Luke 21:34. “Let us behave properly as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and sensuality, not in strife and jealousy. Romans 13:13. “Envyings, murders, drunkenness, reveling, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God” Galatians 5:21 Plus a few dozen more you can find in your little fairytale book thing…as for my view of adults drinking? CHEERS! unless of course you’re a Christian then YOU’RE GOING TO HELL. Repent ye SINNERS, drink not from the tit of the addictive drug beast! This post was inspired from this report. "Practicing What they Preach: Most Evangelical Leaders Abstain from Alcohol A family history of alcoholism and religious teachings were among the reasons cited by the 60% of U.S. evangelical leaders who said they don't drink alcohol socially, CNN reported June 24." Wait, isn't that also 40% of them who are going to HELL!... =============================== Nor DRUNKARDS, Jesus specifically tells us not to get drunk =============================== “He shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried.” Numbers 6:3. ================================ This is referring to a specific person(s) that had taken a vow not to do as such. ================================ “Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die:” Leviticus 10:9 ================================ This one specifically states WHEN ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation. So out of this verse, you would get don't drink before going to church ================================ “You ate no bread and drank no wine or other fermented drink. I did this so that you might know that I am the LORD your God” Deuteronomy 29:6. ================================= This verse is referring to Moses and his family that traveled for 40 days and 40 nights. It's not generally speaking the general population nor did he say not to do such actions. Only saying that they didn't do these on their journey. ================================= “Now see to it that you drink no wine or other fermented drink and that you do not eat anything unclean,” Judges 13:4. ================================== This verse is specifically telling Marry not to drink or eat anything unclean while pregnant with Jesus, again not specifically to the general population of the world. ================================== “Wine makes men foolish, and strong drink makes men come to blows; and whoever comes into error through these is not wise” Proverbs 20:1. =================================== Exact verse - Proverbs 20:1 - Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby not wise. -------------------------------------------------------------- Again saying not to be drunk, eg., whosoever is deceived thereby. And stating the ones that get drunk are not wise. ===================================== “Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine and champions at mixing drinks” Isaiah 5:22. ===================================== Exact verse - Isaiah 2:22 - Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Nottice MIGHTY to drink win and men of strength to mingle strong drink. Still only pointing out to be moderate about your drinking and not to drink strong, but do it lightly. So bascially you will pervert your own bible's words to support drug use. Twist and spin away...the passages are clear enough to any sane person to decide...oh, yeah I forget that sanity eludes may religious people...obviously. No i will not, nor did i say drugs were ok. Drugs eg., coke, heroign, pot, ect are absolutely wrong. They all put you in a state of mind that isn't sober. That is all Jesus is telling us along these lines, to remain sober and not be drunk or high or anything that would allow us to do sinful actions that we normally wouldn't do. Drugs, alcohol, and all that lowers your will to do good, eg., fights, saying things you wouldn't normally say, ect ect ect. So you think alcohol is not a drug. What is it then? God's people cannot trump the AMA..LOL "Sir: "Thank you for your request which was forwarded to me from Dr. Palmisano. The American Medical Association, as does most of the scientific community, considers beverage alcohol (known as ethanol) to be a drug. It is usually classified as a central nervous system depressant although some of its initial effects on drinkers are to provide some stimulating effects. However, as blood alcohol levels increase in the body, the depressant effects become dominant. Other depressant drugs include barbiturates and opiates (e.g., heroin). Here is one of our policies which directly addresses your questions. H-30.972 Alcohol Abuse and the War on Drugs. Our AMA (1) supports documenting the strong correlation between alcohol abuse and other substance abuse; (2) reaffirms the concept that alcohol is an addictive drug and its abuse is one of the nation's leading drug problems; and (3) encourages state medical societies to work actively with drug task forces and study committees in their respective states to assure that their scope of study includes recognition of the strong correlation between alcohol abuse and other substance abuse and recommendations to decrease the immense number of health, safety, and social problems associated with alcohol abuse. (Sub. Res. 97, I-89; Reaffirmed: Sunset Report, A-00)" www.alcoholthenarcotic.org I work to save lives and give kids a chance to grow up drug free...and you apparently support drug use with your bible. For shame. Again, it's not about weather it's a drug or not. It's about staying in a sober mind. Someone can drink a glass of wine and remain in a sober mind. Not condoning alcoholics, drunks, or anything of such. Say you have a glass of wine at dinner, that is fine. You won't get drunk or loose any of your mental awareness. It IS about whether (not weather...lol..it's 59 and partly cloudy here) or not alcohol is a drug. IT IS and you are promoting and justifying drug use. A glass of wine at dinner is NOT what this alcohol plague is about. It's an epidemic and religious folks could care less about it...I've been over that with the "morals" candidate for Lt. Gov here...he's like you, he doesn't care that we have a major drug (alcohol) epidemic...since "Jesus turned water into wine"...so why would Jesus creat a plague...er, epidemic? Alcohol is an addictive drug no less than heroin. And BTW pot is not a addictive narcotic drug...if only Jesus had turned straw into pot then maybe you thumpers would not be so ignorant about how horrible alcohol (drug) use is in the world and would do something about it... |

Geesh I'm saying there not really true christians. The Bible warns us of these hypocrites, and your right they will use fear. Greedy people they were jealous of the Jews. Egads, I hear that all the time...so they're only "true" Christians until they're caught then? The bottom line with me is that no one needs a religion to be moral...and blind faith leads to a place we don't want to go to again. That wasn't just christianity that was a politcal machine that turned into a monster. With satan backing it all the way. He can be very deceptive. I'm not going to turn from my belief because of people being used to do wrong in the name of christianity. It is and should be use to teach people to seek God not Man. There is crazy out there and history proves it. Uh, where's there ANY proof that satanism had anything to do with the rise of Hitler? Do you also blame "satan" for The Dippic's horrible deeds? Why not then? Remember, up to a million Arabs have been killed in his quest that was again, like Hitler, gained from the Christian's support. |

It boils down to what people WANT to have faith in. Some people have no faith that we even landed on the moon. They think it's a conspiracy. Same concept here as with the bible, it's what people want to believe and use their free will on what they actually do believe in. even believers will claim that all the bible should not be taken literal....that in itself is a lack of faith and place the believers in the same realm as non-believers ![]() "Seek and save the lost" That's the problem...having a religion is all fine but pushing your faith onto others is wrong. Just because children disobey their parents doesn't mean they have lack of faith in their parents love, just a lack of discipline. children disobeying their parents is not on the same scale as a believer not following all the teachings of Jesus ...a child didn't pick their parents or their rules but a believer did pick Jesus and his teachings .. ...so a lack of faith in his teachings is the only reason they would choose not to follow all of his teachings No lol. Figures... "I have heard many times that atheists know more about religion than religious people," Silverman said. "Atheism is an effect of that knowledge, not a lack of knowledge. I gave a Bible to my daughter. That's how you make atheists." Atheists, agnostics, Jews and Mormons score highest on basic religion test "Americans are by all measures a deeply religious people, but they are also deeply ignorant about religion. Researchers from the independent Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life phoned more than 3,400 Americans and asked them 32 questions about the Bible, Christianity and other world religions, famous religious figures and the constitutional principles governing religion in public life. On average, people who took the survey answered half the questions incorrectly, and many flubbed even questions about their own faith. Those who scored the highest were atheists and agnostics, as well as two religious minorities: Jews and Mormons. The results were the same even after the researchers controlled for factors like age and racial differences. "Even after all these other factors, including education, are taken into account, atheists and agnostics, Jews and Mormons still outperform all the other religious groups in our survey," said Greg Smith, a senior researcher at Pew. That finding might surprise some, but not Dave Silverman, president of American Atheists, an advocacy group for nonbelievers that was founded by Madalyn Murray O'Hair. "I have heard many times that atheists know more about religion than religious people," Silverman said. "Atheism is an effect of that knowledge, not a lack of knowledge. I gave a Bible to my daughter. That's how you make atheists." Among the topics covered in the survey were: Where was Jesus born? What is Ramadan? Whose writings inspired the Protestant Reformation? Which Biblical figure led the exodus from Egypt? What religion is the Dalai Lama? Joseph Smith? Mother Theresa? In most cases, the format was multiple choice. The researchers said that the questionnaire was designed to represent a breadth of knowledge about religion but was not intended to be regarded as a list of the most essential facts about the subject. Most of the questions were easy, but a few were difficult enough to discern which respondents were highly knowledgeable. On questions about the Bible and Christianity, the groups that answered the most right were Mormons and white evangelical Protestants. On questions about world religions, like Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and Judaism, the groups that did the best were atheists, agnostics and Jews. One finding that may grab the attention of policy makers is that most Americans wrongly believe that anything having to do with religion is prohibited in public schools. An overwhelming 89 percent of respondents, asked whether public school teachers are permitted to lead a class in prayer, correctly answered no. But fewer than 1 in 4 knew that a public school teacher is permitted "to read from the Bible as an example of literature." And only about one third knew that a public school teacher is permitted to offer a class comparing the world's religions. The survey's authors concluded that there was "widespread confusion" about "the line between teaching and preaching."
