Nite Hippie Hi Mary How are you? HI YA BETTY!!!! Been a couple of rough weeks. My lifetime next door neighbor passed away last week. He was like my dad. He kind of took that roll when my dad passed when I was 16. Tomorrow would have been/is my wedding anniversery.....also tomorrow my brother is having heart surgery. Emotionally I am shakey, but God holds me in His arms ad wipes away my tears so all is good Hope all is well for you |

Short or bald. I don't have a reason except that it is what I am attracted to.

No witch hunt. Just common sense advice to people. Some may be harmless. More often than not, if they can't show a pic of themself alarms should be raised. I just said I would not have anyone in my friends list that can't post a pic. I can't and don't try to control what other people do. I can state my opinion on the matter , though. And I see NO PIC as a problem. |

Chloe, when I mention life experience it has nothing to do with maturity but where a person is in their life. Someone your age may be more open to dating in any age group---I was at your age. At 55, I do not want to raise any children. Mine are 20 and 27. I did the sports and school parent volunteering. Now it is time for me. I work fulltime so someone older who is retired may not like that I am not available to do the things he wants at any given moment.
I like being with someone who was a teenager in the 70's. Who went to see Bruce Springsteen in concert in Jersey before he was the Boss. Who remembers the day President Kennedy was shot. I am not putting down being young. I love spending time with my sons and their friends. I just don't want to date anyone who I could have given birth to. It's just a choice for me because I know where I am happiest. The point I was trying to make to Cheerup and MG was that neither of them have been in a long term relationship with someone much older or much younger that lasted. Therefore how can they preach to anyone what they have no personal experience in doing. I would like to hear from someone who has been in an older/younger relationship that has lasted over 15 years and that they felt age was never a factor. |

I think we should just agree that only the two people involved are the ones' whose opinion matters. For this 55 yr old it is 50 to 60 give or take a year. Thanks for the debate fellas. I did enjoy it

I guess what I don't get is why people get bent out of shape over others' preferences. Age is just one of these preferences. Hey, no problems here. If you want to date women of all ages, go for it! Sing, see here's what cheer up is talking about. He never said he wants to date women of all ages. He is saying it doesn't matter what age he or anyone else chooses. And I think all we are saying is, it is different for every one. Age has nothing to do with finances. Some people it takes a while to have financial gain and others at a very young age achieve it. Shouldn't we all agree that it is what ever works for them and not what worked for a few. That's all I'm saying. I don't want someone to think that dating out of your age bracket (there is no such thing in my book) is a bad thing necessary. Absolutely. However, the original statement made it sound like anyone who was not for dating much older or much younger was being negative. My question to you and Cheer up would be how many successful relationships have you experienced yourselves with someone much older or much younger? You asked for examples from me of why it may not work so now I ask the two of you to provide me with examples that it does. |
