There have been a couple posts regarding what current members of the military swear to these days Someone posted a list of I believe appox. 45 articles or sentences that they agree too. Is it possible that someone can repost it for me please? The last one in the list spoke to following the orders of the United Nations. Thanks in advance to anyone who locates this info. Are you asking about the Military Code of Conduct? |

Better gas mileage. Not better though. Your trump cards are: 1. Cheaper 2. Better gas mileage Given two vehicles of equal quality, the sale goes to...... |

What were the Japs selling when GM and Ford came out with the Pinto and Vega? A Datsun??? Good thing the Datsun was good on gas because it sure was cheap as hell. The fact is: The Japanese cars created competition where there wasn't any. Without competition you get crap.Do you honestly think that American cars would even come close to the quality you see today without competition in their market? |

Globalization! K Car! Jimmy "the waste" Carter! The Pacer, Pinto, Vega, etc. etc. etc. When you have no competition you get crap.Try this: build a better car than the Japanese are and more people will buy it. You can shovel the sh!t cars to the people but for now they have a choice and they are clearly choosing quality. What a concept. |

What is a protective tariff? It is a tax, on those who live inside, but dares to purchase from outside. Protective tariff says: "I hope you enjoy being a citizen, because now you no longer have a freedom of choice. You are to buy and use what you are told, not what you choose." A typical result of such tariffs, is that the people are now going overseas for shopping. It will make sense to go visit Berlin to buy the BMW there, and not getting stuck with a Chrysler here. When such becomes the normal, expected occurrence, then the next thing Nazis will do, is to prohibit Americans from bringing imported items home, without paying the "equalizing tariff" at the border, thus officially making US citizens a second grade human beings. How do I know? Every socialist country already went through that. The logic of tariff supporters is always the same: "We need to force our people to pay more for foreign goods. If we can not make our goods better and more attractive, then we will make foreign good worse and less attractive by forcing their prices up". That is an incorrect logic. One cannot make himself better by making others worse. Btw: Q: ---How does a tariff supporter gets a bigger house? A: ---He bulldozes down a part of a neighbor's house. No a protective tariff is a tax put on goods made elsewhere to make the price even and competition fair for the host countries manufacturers. It offsets things like cheap labor, no environmental laws, and no consumer safety and health laws. It enables Americans to maintain their living standard and keep their jobs. It makes for more consumer safety conscience and environmentally responsible corporations. It does nothing to eliminate Free Trade. In fact it creates true free trade. America used to do this! And why did they stop? Other countries jacked THEIR tariffs in kind so what was gained? |

In defense of Hendersonville, it is VERY beautiful. I lived near there for six years and aside from the ungodly high humidity it was great.

fanta....deadly force IMO doesn't even apply in this case. even if they were on his property...the laws of deadly force doesn't seem to apply IMO. BUT...and i stress BUT....the family wasn't on private property anyway You can say that until the cows come home but there are those who are simply argumentative. The body of the argument is irrelevant and they will segue into anything that gets their jollies. |

I don't think any one doesn't feel for the families loss....but it's no different than someone being killed because of someone's stupidity. This was because of someone's stupidity. Wasn't it? I'll have to look. Y'all sure have made a mess of this thread. |

zap...don't forget about those that have illegal guns...like gangs and others wanting to commit crimes. gun laws WON'T stop them from getting them Proud gun owner. Some of us enjoy shooting at the range and some prefer to park their wide glide on the couch and plant their face in a carton of ice cream. We all have our thing. |
