We are educating everyone to a standard compulsory level of a school degree. The expected result of this (expected not by government sledge-headed bureaucrats, mind you) is that there will be less and less good paying jobs available for that level. In other words, we are tuning everyone into an ordinary, nothing exciting, bland type worker. The pay follows.

I buy only German and Japanese made cars. This is because I expect quality, and, because I wish American industry the best. An American car has no quality. Unfortunately, this is true. Yes, this nation still makes Saleen and Mustang, but the mainline autos are crap. This, by the way, was predicted (even) by a writer, Arthur Heily (sp?), in his work "Wheels". Not going into details of why there is no quality, it is sufficient to say that in most cathegories of goods, if one is seeking for quality, he won't be looking at "made in usa" goods.

What exactly prevents anyone from any walk of life from attaining any professional level he may desire? Rich or poor, in America today, not only it is achievable, you will also be pushed to reach whatever it is you want.

What would happen to our manufacturing sector if China and the US become at odds with each other? Would it bankrupt those companies which depend on China for the fabrication of a product itself or some components, or would it force our government to prop up those things as it has done for the banking/investing industry?

An interesting question: If an American of German ancestry packed up his lederhosen and moved to Germany would he then be referred to as a German-German? Perhaps a German-American-German? Maybe a North American-German? Ah! A flag waving surrender monkey-German! No, wait..... that would be a Frenchman. Sorry.

Right now, the CBO estimates that Obama's budget will result in a $2.3T ADDITIONAL deficit (as in, over the $7T Obama's people are saying)over the next decade. That's half the debt added by Bush in 8 years! And that's only if the economy gets better - any worse and it'll balloon even more. That also is only the budget deficit - other bailouts and socialist ventures are not included.

Bush being a d*uchebag does not allow Obama free reign. yeah, Bush overspent (the war was not the bulk of it either) and he should be held accountable for that. But him overspending does not give anyone, especially a candidate that ran on change, the right to do the exact same thing.



Actually, yes, it would clean itself up. That's how capitalism works. we should have let the banks, AIG, GM, Chrysler and all the the whining p*ssies fall. Others buy the assets and new companies form. The Democrats would never let that happen, however, because of all the little girlie union people that want mommy union to get everything for them instead of actually (here's a thought!) working for it. If GM fell, the UAW would go right along with it because the new owners would not give the asinine deals the current members get.
