So please be a little considerate of the situation before you make such a harsh statement about someone lying about something like that. I agree that McCain's POW experience should be off the table from criticism. However, it's McCain and his campaign that plays the POW card every time tough issues come up. For example, when he didn't know how many houses he had, his campaign responded that for 5 1/2 years he didn't have a house. As long as they keep using it for a shield, it's fair game. If it should be off the table from criticism, it should be off the table for reasons why he should be elected as President. But it wont be. He is being portrayed a hero, when in reality he is a standard guy who has enough money to have a run at the big chair. Why dont you run for senator, governor or mayor? You would have to have the money and the backing to start with. You cannot tell me that your average Joe is able to get into big time politics with no money. Look at Clinton ... she ran out of campaign funds and so "lent" herself $5million. Could you or I do that? I dont think so. Yes that is a sad fact. The more money you have the better your chances of being elected. |

Sarah Palin just admitted that her 17 year old daughter is pregnant LOL You are from Kentucky and that is funny? |

All of your questions are rediculous. what diff does it make that she is preg. she isnt running for VP The difference is that they tried to conceal it. They should have just been up front with reporters and the American public. Right! Maybe we should see if her parents have any skeletons in their closet. Why not look into the background of her second cousin twice removed? By not bringing a personal issue to the public's attention? Would it not then be a public issue? Because someone doesn't bring up an issue that has nothing to do with the election is not the same as slick Willie's lies about the fat chick giving him a hummer. Wait! That wasn't anyone's business either, right? |

Geesh, folks have McCain DEAD already! I think it was a good choice as both are bipartison..and just MAYBE something will be accomplished. A true conservative leaves issues such as abortion to each state, as it should be. Same for gay unions/marriages. Example of Universal Healthcare at it's best! Ugh! ** Elderly 'go hungry in hospital' ** Elderly people are going hungry in hospital because staff fail to ensure they are fed, a charity says. < http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/em/fr/-/2/hi/health/7580549.stm > and More on Universal Healthcare. ** Hospital 'starved' elderly mother ** A woman claims a Birmingham hospital "starved" her elderly mother rather than continue her treatment. < http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/em/fr/-/2/hi/uk_news/england/west_midlands/7486166.stm > I ran across this lil tidbid as to Obama/Biden, and it pretty much sums up the sneakiness of the Dems (like their "tabled" Charlie Rangel "Draft Bill": ========== In case you’ve forgotten, there is a bill in the Senate, INTRODUCED BY SENATOR BARACK OBAMA, that will require the U.S. to move towards global governance and for its citizens to pay a GLOBAL TAX. While I’m sure that some bloggers here on Townhall are aware of this bill and its fast track handling, I doubt that the unwashed masses are aware of this abomination. I remember uproar surrounding the bill earlier in the year, but it’s gone practically silent until now. I stumbled onto the current status last night and found myself worrying about it as I fell asleep and thinking about it again this morning. Maybe I’ve been asleep at the wheel for the last couple of months, but where’s the uproar? Did I miss it? The silence is deafening. The House has already passed the bill (by a voice vote so there will be no record of an individual’s vote). And Sen. Joe Biden has rushed the bill through the Senate Foreign Relations Committee with another voice vote and without any hearings. It is now ready for a full Senate vote. Harry Reid just has to schedule it. Senate bill S.2433, called The Global Poverty Act of 2007, has 23 sponsors and, “Directs the President, through the Secretary of State, to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to further the U.S. foreign policy objective of promoting the reduction of global poverty, the elimination of extreme global poverty, and the achievement of the United Nations Millennium Development Goal of reducing by one-half the proportion of people worldwide who live on less than $1 per day.” Therein lies the “kicker.” The part about achieving the U.N. Millennium Goal (now called the Millennium Declaration) would also commit the U.S. to sign onto many dangerous treaties, including the International Criminal Court, the Kyoto Protocol, licensing of what the U.N. calls the “global commons,” meaning fees (to the UN) for the use of air, water, and natural resources (The Law of the Sea Treaty fits this category), and there is more just as bad. Obama’s bill would commit the United States to spending 0.7 percent of our Gross National Product (GNP) on additional foreign aid over 13 years – on top the amount we already spend. We spent a total of $122.8 billion of foreign aid provided by Americans in 2005 (the most current data available), $95.5 billion, or 79 percent, came from private foundations, corporations, voluntary organizations, universities, religious organizations and individuals, says the annual Index of Global Philanthropy. Source: America.gov The 0.7 percent of GNP committed to in the bill, spread out over the required 13 years amounts to $845 Billion dollars, not including the aid that is already being spent. WTF? WTF? And that’s not all, Obama’s Global Poverty Act specifically refers to the U.N. Millennium Goals as its guide and the 0.7 percent of GNP is taken right out of the U.N. documents. At the Millennium Summit in 2000 (attended by Bill Clinton), the U.N. set out to change some of the original language to tone down the rhetoric to sound more like suggestions and ideas than rules and regulations. No matter; a release from the Obama Senate office about the bill declares, “In 2000, the U.S. joined more than 180 countries at the United Nations Millennium Summit and vowed to reduce global poverty by 2015. We are halfway towards this deadline, and it is time the United States makes it a priority of our foreign policy to meet this goal and help those who are struggling day to day.” They readily admit to backing the UN's Millennium Goals. The bill defines the term “Millennium Development Goals” (MDG) as the goals set out in the United Nations Millennium Declaration, General Assembly Resolution 55/2 (2000). These goals call for “the eradication of poverty by redistribution of wealth and land” among other things. Strict adherence to the MGDs would leave little discretion for the U.S. to distribute or withhold aid based on country performance or political objectives. At the risk of sounding like a conspiracy proponent, I’ve read a bunch of different takes on Obama’s bill and the U.N.’s MDGs and I don’t see how I could have misinterpreted what’s been written. If others find that any of my statements are wrong, please let me know – I’ll be glad to correct any misinformation. Absent my misinterpretation, its impact on the U.S. is chilling. Essentially, if we allow this bill to become law, we’re sacrificing our national sovereignty and setting a dangerous precedent of allowing the United Nations (the U.N.!) to tax Americans. We all know what good stewards of money the U.N. is and how efficiently some of the countries spend the aid they currently get (directly into their politician’s pockets). This Global Poverty Act is an assault on our sovereignty and our role as the leader of the free world. Is there still any doubt that Obama has global ambitions? Maybe he covets the Supreme Omnipotent Leader of the World job at the U.N.? He must not be elected President of the United States. The Global Poverty Act, brought to you by Barack Hussein Obama. ================= So...we will be taxed to death to pay for crappy Universal Healthcare and THEN taxes by the UN??? I mean come onnnn, what has the UN ever accomplished??? Resolution #3,000,000, totally ignored!! Imo, we should STOP even paying into the UN and pull out, NOT pay a "global tax"! Anyone aware of this? Or too busy digging up dirt on each candidate. How about knowing what you are voting in, folks?? McCain is old, yes, but he is experienced and IS no Bush..they have consistently bumped heads as to the way the war was handled, among other things. He is his own man, and bipartison..same as Palin. I think it was a good choice. Biden??? What a joke!! I had no intention of voting for the phony "Obama Camelot Era" anyways, but check out what Universal Healthcare entails..and how awful it is. I, for one, want to choose my doctor and not get the worse of worst, while the rich get the good doctors. I do NOT want the govt. picking my doctor. AND the Dems have been known to be tax crazy, but now a Global Tax, to be paid to the useless UN??? I don't think so. Forget who is more experienced, the fact that McCain's wife is rich, that Palin's husband is whatever...how about what each candidate proposes to DO?? Change for the sake of change is NOT necessarily good change. And once Obama got in there, he'd be shut down, as his policies are whacky left. The very last thing we need in these times. And Republicans shut down 3rd parties?? I'm SURE the Dems were thrilled with Lieberman going Independent and winning..and now chummy with McCain. This country needs a moderate, who can work with "the other side" and accomplish positive, viable change. McCain proposes to fix what exists..makes sense to me! And Palin isn't running for President..McCain is. But, honestly? If I had to choose, I'd pick Palin...IF that were the case, but it's not. McCain isn't "unhealthy"...and is alive and kicking or he wouldn't be running. I do agree the VP's are important, but am more interested in what each Presidential candidate proposes to do. Obama is so far whacky left, we'd be a socialist government! And look around...how many socialist countries are thriving. Cubans aren't dying in boats for no reason! How about learning what these men are proposing to DO, and debating that..instead of which is more experienced? I'm voting McCain/Palin, as I choose to remain a democratic country and not turn into a socialist country and be beholden to the horrid UN, which accomplishes zilch without us! Holy smokes! Beauty AND a brain! |

You could put Bill Clinton and the exact same scenario, making the exact same decision The point is, Clinton wouldn't have made dubya's decisions. No,he didn't have the BALLS to make his own decisions. Slick Willie made all of his decisions based on polls. Spineless jellyfish. Hell! He even made the decision to do Monica based on a pole! Lest we all forget that slick Willie won the presidency twice and the majority of voters didn't vote for the lip sucking "ah feel yer pain" chair warmer and his tree hugging moron of a VP.People complain that McCain has X amount of houses and is wealthy? What about Algore? Preaching global warming while he drives his SUV's between his many houses? MY GOD! I'm glad that freak never made it to the oval office. |

who the hell gave you the right to TRY to control my life? that makes no sence It is not that they want to control your life, its that they have a different opinion on when life begins. By having an abortion you are killing something, why do you think you have the right to kill it? (not trying to take a side, I am really just asking this question) For the HPV do they want to make it illegal or not make it mandatory, because those are 2 different things. if i have a tumor i have the right to cut it off. its growing on me ill do what i want. if i wanna chop my ear off and learn to paint. its my friggin ear right? if my girl feels that the best thing she can do for both of us considering the situation we are in then its her body and not the pro-lifers. they arent the ones who are going to have to care for the child. ive seen bombs at planned parenthoods. ive never seen lines at orphanages. as for the hpv, they dont want to make it mandatory. they are making a heath issue into a political one because they want to control your sex life. after all if you have a child you get them shots for polio and tb and a host of others somehow preventing cervical cancer is a political issue? ok point for point. no one asked the government to pay for me to "cut my ear off" in fact i dont know one case or one politician who supports that your right parents should pay for their children. health insurance pays for shots unless you dont have it then the gov has clinics for low income people. if your a pro-lifer you should support life even after birth and stherefor support health care for the poor. schools. the school system was started ages ago to establish a standard and provide school to every child even the poor. private schools are costly and since the standard says every child will go to school then every tax payer has been to school and thus pays for it. and yes if parents dont care for their children then tax payers pay for that. so why get rid of abortion, which keeps a burden off a tax payer every time a woman has the right to choose to abort Doesn't matter to me. Kill as many babies as you like. Don't take the easy way out by burning them with saline solution or sticking shears into their brain while they are half out of the womb so it can't be called murder, have fun with it! Have you considered inserting electrodes into the baby and turning the juice up slowly so they jump in the womb like a Mexican jumping bean? Now that would be fun! Wait! I have one! Keep poking an umbrella up there until a hand or leg falls out and take bets as to which part will fall out first. Yeah! I'm down for twenty bucks on an eyeball! The old fearmongering, gruesome pro lifer rhetoric. Not rhetoric- it is fact. If you do not want the babies to be aborted, take them all in to your home and feed them all, cloth them all, school them all, support them all. The American public is already paying for the irresponsibility of others. Put a sign on the abortion clinic wall stating that you will willingly pay for the care of the mother throughout her whole pregnancy, pay her hospital and doctor costs, loss of work costs and then support the baby from birth till of age for all mothers coming to the clinic. I will gladly send them to you myself. We are. In this state the program is called MN Care. Although not a great choice it is and should be the choice of the mother. Until all children are cared for in this whole wide world and there is a shortage of children to adopt, The waiting list for adoptions is years long. I don't want to hear nothing from anyone about it. Keep your head in the sand. You won't hear a thing. Do your part and take in all these unwanted children so we can then discuss the subject of abortion and the possibility of the wanted children being aborted. We are doing our thing by trying to have abstinence and other preventive measures taught but the right to be irresponsible and to have that irresponsibility funded by all is being trumpeted as we speak. The states nor feds pay for abortions. Abortions are not funded by the government at any level. So how do you pay? Like I said, adopt all the possibly aborted children and get all your friends of your ilk to do the same and the problem will be solved. Until then get out of other people's bodies and their personal business. http://www.guttmacher.org/in-the-know/cost.html 13% of abortions are paid for by Medicaid. 13% by insurance carriers. Do the math. Billions of dollars of taxpayer's money paid for irresponsibility. As long as a hand is reaching into my wallet to steal from me I will most certainly get into their personal business. That information is not accurate, try harder. Nope. It's your turn to exercise your fingers. The stats are there in black and white. Disprove them. Here ya go: What is the Hyde Amendment? Passed by Congress in 1976, the Hyde Amendment excludes abortion from the comprehensive health care services provided to low-income people by the federal government through Medicaid. Congress has made some exceptions to the funding ban, which have varied over the years. At present, the federal Medicaid program mandates abortion funding in cases of rape or incest, as well as when a pregnant woman's life is endangered by a physical disorder, illness, or injury. Most states have followed the federal government's lead in restricting public funding for abortion. Currently only seventeen states fund abortions for low-income women on the same or similar terms as other pregnancy-related and general health services. (See map.) Four of these states provide funding voluntarily (HI, MD, NY,1 and WA); in thirteen, courts interpreting their state constitutions have declared broad and independent protection for reproductive choice and have ordered nondiscriminatory public funding of abortion (AK, AZ, CA, CT, IL, MA, MN, MT, NJ, NM, OR, VT, and WV).2 Thirty-two of the remaining states pay for abortions for low-income women in cases of life-endangering circumstances, rape, or incest, as mandated by federal Medicaid law.3 (A handful of these states pay as well in cases of fetal impairment or when the pregnancy threatens "severe" health problems, but none provides reimbursement for all medically necessary abortions for low-income women.) Finally, one state (SD) fails even to comply with the Hyde Amendment, instead providing coverage only for lifesaving abortions. Chew on it for a bit. Need real government information if you come against me. And the figure comes to..... get your paws out of the ice cream bucket for this one, 13%. Billions. Someone could buy a lot of Haagen Dasz with that much green! |

Please provide links to support your opinion that the Republicans don't even want the vaccine to exist as it promotes promiscuity. i read it in the paper here in LA sorry dont have a link. Then state that it is your opinion so others aren't misled. If you have the paper's name and approximate date that you read it I would be happy to research it for you. Searched the last year and a half and there was a CDC report and an article that stated "U.S. health officials called for better screening, vaccination and prevention." the paper is called the Daily Breeze. dont know the date. Thanks Dredz, I'll do a query. |

who the hell gave you the right to TRY to control my life? that makes no sence It is not that they want to control your life, its that they have a different opinion on when life begins. Your ear isnt alive, a child is and is not a part of you. Did you even understand what I said about the HPV. Its only a political issue because some people want to make it mandatory. McCain and them are not saying you can't take your kid to get this vaccine, they are saying we don't want to force you to. You still can if you want. how is my ear not alive or apart of me? its my ear! i understood what your said. i don't think you understood me. let me be clearer. the far right doesn't even what the hpv vaccine to exsist. the reason given is they think it promotes promiscuity. hpv is an std the rational is that if you get rid of an std you encourage people to have sex. even if agreed with that it dosent make it any less warped. cervical cancer kills women. mandatory or not women should have this. if your talking about government involvement then i agree the government shouldn't be making laws and spending money on it. my concern is the drive to stop it Please provide links to support your opinion that the Republicans don't even want the vaccine to exist as it promotes promiscuity. |

So,.... how about them Cowboys??? Wow, bringing up The Cold War, round Two!! You got chutpah!! Why not I happen to be a little scared of the Russian instabilities. As a European, they are very close to my home. If they decide to do something instinctive, and do a land grab, we would all be looking for "Reds under the bed" We should not dismiss the Russian threat so lightly They have a very tight grip on gas production and oil. Much agreed! Great post Duncan! |
