If the far-right establishment allowed McCain to select Joe Lieberman as he wanted, they would have had a formidable "Maverick" ticket and could have made a great case that they could drive bi-partisan cooperation. Not now. If McCain had picked Lieberman...he would have lost the vote of true Consevatives like me...socialy speaking...she's a " perfect "...10 !!! In November, the voters will speak and let us know what they think of the last 8 years of consevatives like you. Come on learner, the true conservatives have been just as angry as the liberals for the last eight years with the true conservatives for an additional eight years. Bush and company are not conservatives in my opinion. True, they're neocons, but didn't the Republicans reject Newt eventually because he was a spending hawk? The biggest reason I'm voting for Obama is that I want the spending of my children and grandchildren's furture earnings on the war machine stopped. Yeah, that is true although I consider Newt to be a fanatic and have little respect for him. As far as your other comments- I agree. |

Canada did not fight in the Vietnam War, and diplomatically it was officially "non-belligerent". The country's troop deployments to Vietnam were limited to a small number of peacekeeping forces in 1973.[1] Nevertheless, the war had considerable effects on Canada, while Canada and Canadians affected the war, in return. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada_and_the_Vietnam_War You would argue about the color of a piece of dog crap wouldn't you madboy? What a dull existence yours must be. the man has presented a counter-point to your argument and all you can resort to is name calling??...Class, real class....what a pathetic waste of space... Have you looked in the mirror lately? ![]() He isn't here to PRESENT anything beyond rhetoric and hatred. Uh, kinda like you eh? I refuse to engage in discussions with fanatics. They will not see beyond their hatred. Kinda like you eh? They think that a dating forum is a place to spew venomous hatred. Their goal is to be a fly in your soup. As far as your waste of space comment? We had that. She moved to South America. ![]() |

I just stepped in something.....wait, was that a pile of "Oh Please......." Thirty years ago, Sarah Palin was what "in the day" feminism was all about creating. The champion of the movement, Gloria Steinem argued that a woman should be able to have both--a career (and by career she did not mean simply putting a man's food on the table at a specified nightly time) but in fact a "power" career. Empowerment was about being able to have kids and have a the career and the only that that has the almost irrelevant Ms. Steinem bothered is that this particular woman (Mrs. Palin) carries and (R) after her name. It was Gloria and her work of yesteryear that has produced women like Sarah Palin. In fact, Gloria is right when she asserts that Palin is the wrong woman with the wrong message in that the right woman (Senator Clinton) has been cast to the side, the bitter little cheerleader for Mr. Obama. Women like Gov. Palin drive women like Ms. Steinem crazy because Palin does not consider herself a victim of anything or anyone. That is, she has earned what she has. But she failed to pay the toll that fringe feminism instituted long ago. Palin isn't a bitter angry victim that felt like she had to fight the establishment in order to flip it the bird. She's not run by the shrill likes of Ms. Steinem and THAT is why she's the wrong woman. Drew ![]() ![]() |

I live in an apartment complex where we have to share a laundry room, 2 washers, 2 dryers. I go down there this morning and one lady has both washers and both dryers occupied and tells me "It's going to be a while." This is why I never, no matter how much laundry I have, occupy both washers and both dryers. While she is getting HER laundry done no one else can even so much as do one load. Some people's children....musta missed out at the age of, oh I don't know, 2, the concept of sharing with your peers!!!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Cat fight! Wait! Ann Coulter is a loudmouth ignoramus who spouts her outrageous nationalist inaccuracies on American television with little challenge from the empty talking heads who interview her. But she finally found someone to stand up to her, in Canada--and she was exposed for the arrogant fool she is. Interviewed by the Canadian Broadcasting Company's Bob McKeown for the investigative TV broadcast "The Fifth Estate," which devoted an hour-long January 26 special to how U.S. media have been highjacked by conservative bullies, Coulter was berating Canada for not sending troops to Iraq when she displayed her empty-headedness in the following exchange: Coulter: "Canada used to be one of our most loyal friends and vice-versa. I mean Canada sent troops to Vietnam - was Vietnam less containable and more of a threat than Saddam Hussein?" McKeown interrupts: "Canada didn't send troops to Vietnam." Coulter: "I don't think that's right." McKeown: "Canada did not send troops to Vietnam." Coulter (looking desperate): "Indochina?" McKeown: "Uh no. Canada ...second World War of course. Korea. Yes. Vietnam No." Coulter: "I think you're wrong." McKeown: "No, took a pass on Vietnam." Coulter: "I think you're wrong." McKeown: "No, Australia was there, not Canada." Coulter: "I think Canada sent troops." McKeown: "No." Coulter: "Well. I'll get back to you on that." McKeown tags out in script: "Coulter never got back to us -- but for the record, like Iraq, Canada sent no troops to Vietnam." You can see the entire exchange by clicking here. Of course, Coulter was dead wrong. In fact, Canada's attitude toward America's war in Vietnam was extremely critical under several governments of our neighbor to the north. For example, when Prime Minister Lester Pearson--who'd won a Nobel Peace Prize for his role in defusing the '50s Suez crisis-- gave an April 2, 1965 speech at Temple University calling for a pause in U.S. bombing of Vietnam, he was the subject of rather notorious treatment by Lyndon Johnson at their subsequent meeting: LBJ grabbed the much smaller Canadian by the lapels, lifted him off the floor, and hollered, "You pissed on my rug!" Pearson's successor, Pierre Trudeau, signaled his attitude toward the war in Vietnam when he granted political asylum to tens of thousands of draft-age Americans who fled to Canada to avoid having to fight in Vietnam, saying: "'Those who make the conscientious judgment that they must not participate in this war ... have my complete sympathy, and indeed our political approach has been to give them access to Canada. Canada should be a refuge from militarism." (How one wishes the current prime minister, Paul Martin, would take the same position with regard to those war resisters in uniform who have gone to Canada because of their opposition to what the U.S. is doing in Iraq.) This is hardly the first time Coulter has invented "facts." To take just one more example, David Corn last year wrote a Nation web-post recounting how Coulter claimed, on the Chris Matthews Show, that George C. Scott had turned down his Oscar for the movie "Patton" because he was protesting the "critical" treatment of the general by Hollywood liberals. And even when Matthews challenged her on it and told her why she was wrong, she persisted in her falsehood. The historically ignorant Coulter should be hiding in shame, and owes the Canadians an apology for insisting on her blatant untruth--while network bookers who continue to invite her to guest on their shows should be hiding under their desks if they maintain this empty-headed, epithet-throwing fictionalist on their rosters. (Thanks to the Canadian correspondent of This Is Rumor Control for spotting and providing the transcript of Coulter's on-air comeuppance). http://www.commondreams.org/views05/0206-23.htm Once again madboy, your ignorance is overshadowed by your anger.Absolutely disgusting. ![]() Wiki: Canadian troops in Vietnam Despite the repeated denials by CBC's interviewer, Canada DID send troops to Vietnam. The facts are well-documented and beyond dispute. The interviewer constantly repeats his assertions, but no other source supports them. These facts contradict him: * The Canadian government sent troops to Vietnam in August 1954 during the partition of Vietnam. They stayed through January 1973. They incurred casualties and several deaths. Confirmation and further details appear in the articles on International Control Commission and International Commission of Control and Supervision, both of which contain extensive links and references. * The government of Canada awarded medals to 1,550 of these troops for their service between August 7, 1954 and January 28, 1973. You can see the details HERE. A second medal was also awarded to the 240 Canadian troops who participated in Operation Gallant in Vietnam from January 28, 1973 to July 31, 1973. Details HERE. * Many official Canadian government documents about the International Control Commission for Vietnam (a mixture of Canadian troops and Canadian civilians) are available on the Internet and elsewhere. Some of them can be found HERE. Canadian military personnel who died while in Vietnam or other parts of Indochina include: * Sergeant James S. BYRNE, CD, Royal Canadian Army Service Corps. Died 18 Oct 1965. His body was not recovered. * Corporal Vernon J. PERKINS, Royal Highland Regiment of Canada (Black Watch). Died 18 Oct 1965. His body was not recovered. * Leading Seaman Ned W. MEMNOOK, HMCS TERRA NOVA. Died 15 Mar 1973. He was posthumously awarded the Special Service Medal & "PEACE" Clasp * Captain Charles E. LAVIOLETTE, CD, 12e Regiment Blinde du Canada. Died 7 Apr 1973. |

What really bothers me about all this was that amid sexy texts and power struggles everyone seems to have forgotten about the young woman who, sometime after reporting to police that she was assaulted at a party at the mayors home, was found dead. Her murder has gone unsolved and the identity of the murderer may never be known. The police officers, both veterans of the Detroit police force had their careers ended because they sought the truth. Yes, they did receive a substantial settlement that the tax payers had to pay but that doesn't make up for what they had to go through in an attempt to find justice for a young murdered woman. Who killed Tamara Greene? This is terrible Lynanne! Michigan was, is, and will always be a great state with honest hardworking people and a politician who has allowed power to corrupt him will not destroy Michigan's image. He is just a speed bump. ![]() |

ahhh yes and the mass graves and gassings and stonings of women were MUCH better. its not our damned faults they cant handle democracy. theyre conflict is basically our civil war. so let them fight. im sick of trying to get people to understand. not every country is as educated as the ones were lucky enough to be in. find a guy fomr almost any african country or from the caucasus. they'll tell you the same thing. america rocks. we are quite simply the most advanced. guess what? iraqi people want ot kill each other over a book in their bible! WOOHOO what a great reason! thats advanced! theyre sure smart! we should save them from themselves and turn that country to glass. You mentioned the mass graves. Do you remember that those thousands of people were buried alive with bulldozers? People seem to forget. Yet we should have looked the other way like the rest of the ball-less countries? ![]() |
