I personally dont see much difference in John McCains Presidental bid and that of Gary Hart in 1988. John McCain has freely admitted that his 1st Marriage to Carol Shepp, with whom he has three children. John has been quoted by say this about his 1st marriage. "My marriage's collapse was attributable to my own selfishness and immaturity more than it was to Vietnam, and I cannot escape blame by pointing a finger at the war. The blame was entirely mine. IMO 5 years in captivity would do a lot to mess with your mind, and take a lot of years to work through. We cannot even begin to know the details of the "unfaithfullness" that occurred and it seems silly to use that fact as a basis of why he should not be president. Also, I never saw Bill Clinton shunned. Rather the opposite, he got way more attention than he deserved over his antics. Hell, his own wife didn't even shun him.

Nope, its because he is a scapegoat for people and he doesn't have the charisma to talk his way out of things. You could put Bill Clinton and the exact same scenario, making the exact same decision, and having the exact same outcomes, but people would like him way more because he can talk his way out of a paper bag.

Bill Clinton could get a beggar to give him money. He wasn't the best president, but he was a VERY good speaker.

No, I am saying he is a decent president that just takes a lot of flack. People forget that there is a house and a senate. They try to blame everything on Bush, even things he can't control. They also try to blame him on stuff like Katrina not knowing stuff like more local people do (I am from Louisiana). Government offered aid, the Mayor of NO turned it down, stuff like that.

Like I said if Clinton was in the same spot his approval ratings would be hire based on his public speaking ability.
