As a resident of Michigan I am happy to see this in today's Detroit Free Press.
Mayor: 'I lied under oath' He'll leave office, serve 120 days in jail, repay $1 million, surrender law license UPDATED AT 12:10 P.M.: Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has pleaded guilty, ending a nearly eight month drama that has transfixed the region, paralyzed much of city business and halted a political career that once held such promise. |

What really bothers me about all this was that amid sexy texts and power struggles everyone seems to have forgotten about the young woman who, sometime after reporting to police that she was assaulted at a party at the mayors home, was found dead. Her murder has gone unsolved and the identity of the murderer may never be known.
The police officers, both veterans of the Detroit police force had their careers ended because they sought the truth. Yes, they did receive a substantial settlement that the tax payers had to pay but that doesn't make up for what they had to go through in an attempt to find justice for a young murdered woman. Who killed Tamara Greene? |

Who killed Tamara Greene? This is terrible Lynanne! Michigan was, is, and will always be a great state with honest hardworking people and a politician who has allowed power to corrupt him will not destroy Michigan's image. He is just a speed bump. ![]() |
