Another guy I went out with, spent the entire date conversing with my chest...I felt like sticking a fork in his eye...but I didn't want to ruin my salad...

He's being honest enough than to pretend.laugh laugh laugh

I had a B/F who refused to make any eye contact whatsoever...it was maddening! But he was a Nam vet, so I figured he may have gone through something terrible...brokenheart

Look 'em in the eye when you're on the lookout for love.blushing

One of the most obvious signs of a lack of self-confidence is the inability to be able to look people in the eye for long periods when talking to them.
Eye contact reveals a lot about you including your honesty or hostility or your enthusiasm or disinterest. If you can't look people in the eye, you appear to be underconfident, people can think you are concealing something or that you are just not interested in them and what they are saying.

...with that thing!

How do you establish & maintain eye contact when they seem to just want to look at somethin' else?

They taught me in management classes, that eye contact is the most important non-verbal channel for communication.

"The cheapest, most effective way to connect with people is to look them into the eye."Eyes are not only the "window to the soul", they also answer the critical questions when you are trying to connect:
Is he paying attention to what I'm saying?
Does this person find me attractive?
Does this person like me?

Is your eye contact aggressive, is it soft, is it inviting, do you love with your eyes? Eye contact is a very tricky art to master but vital to effective communication.

Eye contact provides social information to the person you are listening to and talking to. Too much eye contact and you could be seen as aggressive, too little eye contact and you can be seen as having no interest in the person speaking.

It is an often an overlooked skill to have and an under utilised skill when communicating with people. You can see masters of eye contact in great sales persons, politicians, and good public speakers.

Im English and think we are far better for the ladies

There's a saying......"One man's(or woman's) meat is another man's(or woman's) poison.

So let the ladies decide for themselves.

At best we can count the votes and get the answer.

I can empathize. I've gone through this many times with my feline family and it never gets easier. I've got one now who is so full of life, but I can tell he's getting older. Such a sweet silly boy with a swell personality and lots of love.

Please, though, if he's getting that badly off and miserable, diseased, make the plans to get him put to rest. I wish we could do that for people if they don't want to be around or suffer anymore.brokenheart

Well. well......every dog has his day.brokenheart
