Thank you PacificStar, but I find myself in need of more womanly advice. I just can't figure some things out. You have been such a HUGE asset so far, and I would greatly value your input again. If it's OK with you I've sent you a message.

True, and while I'm brand new at this online dating stuff, I have been around women most of my life, and think "falsifying" one's self is a recipe for disaster. What happens when one actually meet someone they like? (as recently happened to me, yay! ) and they has to live up to all the BS they posted about themselves? I don't see it ending well.
Back on topic, I think, if someone's actually offended because they don't possess a certain feature you like it's their problem, not yours. |

Could be because nowadays ya.get bashed for being honest for instance if I said I prefer dating man at least my height or taller I run risk of offending any man less than 5ft10. If I say I prefer man with well groomed facial hair?clean shaven men might get miffy If I say that a few extra pounds do not bother me but I would prefer someone who is not morbidly obese because of health issues that often accompany it and because I am physically active this opens me up to being called a chubby hater which would be ridiculous since my ex husband was almost 400 lbs before his gastric bypass Many people "choose" to be offended these days. If someone gets all butthurt for not having a specific characteristic you're looking for they need to get over themselves. There's no way every individual is going to perfectly fit every other individual's preferences. I'm usually clean-shaven, but these days wear a shortly trimmed beard in the Winter. If someone doesn't like that, why in the hell should I be offended by it? That's just ridiculous and, to me at least, the mark of someone trying to please everyone but themselves, and if you can't be happy with yourself how can anyone else ever be happy with you? I can understand thinking, "Oh man!!! She likes facial hair and I don't like having a beard! What else do I have to offer?" But to be OFFENDED by it! Grow up and earn to live in your own skin. Just my take on it. |

Sure it's possible, I've done it. Did I really need to? No. Did I want to? Yes. It kept me busy and made my life very comfortable. I've retired from one, but still doing the other. If someone thinks I've worked and earned more than my fair share they can most certainly step right up and try to take my place. Good luck with that.
edited to add: Oh, and I'm beginning a 3rd career as we speak. Should I be ashamed of myself for having a desire to work and better myself? |

Major Turn Ons

My former wife was an attorney, tall and leggy. She wore "business dress" 5 days a week. While I found her attire very attractive in itself, being the only man in the room who knew what she was wearing UNDER that business attire was very sexy. Every now and then at a party or other function, she'd tap me on the elbow, give a quick wink, and hike up her skirt just enough so that I could catch a glimpse of a garter belt or the lace tops of her mid-thigh stockings. We were known for leaving business dinners early, neither of us cared for them much, anyway.

Towing

I have for about 40 miles maximum. Just remember the tow vehicle cannot brake for the one being towed, so you'll need someone in that car who knows the route. That's an important point because when towing that way, the vehicle in the rear uses their brakes to help stop the towing vehicle. That keeps the tow strap taught, keeping it from being run over by the towed vehicle. Straps are better than chains, in my opinion. Should some slack occur in the tow-like straps don't throw up pieces of asphalt and gravel. Best bet would be a tow-dolly from a rental company.

First drink in the morning
|
|
What is your first drink when you get out of bed in the morning? coffee? orange juice? glass of water? other? First drink is very important....very. Think about it! Coffee, always coffee...how quickly I transition from coffee to a cold beer or a drank depends on where I am and what I'm doing that day. Firing up the tractor at 5am Saturday morning? I'm ready for a cold beer by 10:30. At the office? Maybe a couple highballs at lunch on a Friday every now and then. |

Last Christmas there was a link on another site to where you could sign up to send box cookies to an enlisted guy or gal over seas
My son helped make cookies with me and we sent them to a 24 Year old marine. I didn't think much about it but a month or so.later he sent me a tea set and.coasters and a little wooden carved elephant for my son. really beautiful sweet things I know he went into market where he was stationed and bought That's a really nice story! And thank you to you and your son!!!! When I was in Syria I got a "to any Marine" package. It was COMPLETELY free, and contained the art projects of an entire New York City second grade class. They were "just" construction paper cut-outs of mice with glued on yarn tales and a wide variety of decoration. There was a letter from the teacher. I wrote her back and, with her OK, I wrote back to each and every one of those kids by name (their names were on the backs of all the mice). It took a while, and many of them had progressed in grade while I was writing but, as far as I know, they all got my "thank you" note. You're good people, and I'm glad the young Marine showed appreciation. |

Note to self

eh, I leave notes to myself by the coffee pot every night. Usually about work or something I have to do the next day. If it were a personal note, though, it would probably say "Illegitimi non carborundum," or "Deo Duce, ferro comitante," or maybe, "Screw it dude, you REALLY want to call in sick today."

The Secret to Success.....

He is one of the few, if not the only, sports star I will accept a motivational from. Our boss at work is a HUGE sports fan and used to constantly sign his e-mails with a motivational quote from one professional athlete or another. I finally responded one day with "Hey, how about a motivational from someone who's actually worked a 9-5?" I think what pushed me over the edge was when he included a "motivational" from Julius Erving, "Dr. J.". "Right up until the time I retired at age 37, I felt like there were still things that I could do better."

I'm working Saturday until about noon or so. I'm leaving for a fishing trip in Minnesota Tuesday, have a few things to pick up for the trip. Gonna' wash the truck, rotate the tires, and change the oil Saturday afternoon. A friend's going to "pet-sit" for me while I'm gone so I'm going to wash the dog at some point and get him over to her house so we'll have a couple days to see if my dog and hers get along. If not he's getting boarded. Taking Mom to church Sunday morning, will get home about 1:00, after that the rest of the weekend is all mine! lol
Oh, I forgot, I also promised my sister I'd swap out a toilet in her house Sunday after church while I'm down that way. My BIL's a helluva good guy, but he calls for instructions when he has to replace a light bulb. I exaggerate, but not by much. He takes really good care of my sister and for that I love him like a brother. Toilet swap's about a 1/2 hour job if nothing breaks, so I'll get home about 1:30 v. 1:00, THEN the rest of the weekend is mine! |

This argument is really getting old. The military today does not need to discriminate against women for biological reasons since that is no longer the driving factor on how decent a soldier will perform in combat. Like technology has changed the way wars are fought. You ever been to Syria, Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan? Brute force is EXACTLY how these animals fight war. We have air strikes, sure, but air strikes can't hold territory. They can take it temporarily, but it takes boots on the ground to hold it. It is not discrimination to require a female to perform equally to a male. To adjust the standards, that's where the discrimination is. edited to add: I do understand a single female Navy officer recently successfully graduated BUDS. My hat's off to her. |

So by NOT lowering their standards the military is discriminating? I'd think just the opposite, by lowering their standards to accommodate women would be the epitome of discrimination. "Oh, you poor things can't do this? Here ya' go, we'll make it easier so you'll think you can." How discriminatory and condescending is that?

They're "cute" because they are just that, cute girls. As a woman matures, so must your vocabulary, to words like voluptuous, luscious, sensuous, and delightful.

What does it mean? Do you think a man has to open car door or pull chair out for you or stand when you leave table or are you just happy if he chews his food with his mouth closed? when walking into dinner do you walk next to each other and you pause as he opens door...perhaps his hand is gently at base of your back. When you get to your table he lets you sit first and offers to hang up your coat. Haahaa..sometimes think I am a dinosaur In that sort of setting the gentleman should tip a $20, at least, to assure your coat is hung away from others with "issues." Some coats have issues. They know. |

But, maybe a compromise is separate female combat units....staffed based on their own standards and missioned out based on their effectiveness. Its a stretch though. Why fix what aint broken?
While I don't see a future for women in a Marine Corps ground unit, I can honestly see all-woman units performing flanking maneuvers, pincers, anvil to hammers (sorry, but Hammer to Anvil isn't happening with an all female crew. I Just don't think you'd have enough hammer to drive them to the anvil), defense of a longbow maneuver. Maybe even taking the horns in a buffalo run. Those kinds of maneuvers would work because they rely on firepower being efficiently laid down from specific points. And women can definitely shoot, no doubt about it. |

What military experience do you have? I have 28 years Marine Corps, 25 years in Reconnaissance, 22 of which were First Force. I wouldn't put any woman (or anyone, for that matter) through what I've been through, just the schools alone never mind the deployments. I think I have a pretty good handle on pain. I still think you need remedial comprehension training. You may be capable of giving birth, I am not. If you read my entire post, I'm not pitching one against the other, it's just that there's a difference between the two. In fact, at the very end I most certainly tip my hat to you women. Nice chatting with you darling, kiss.
edited to add: I never knew Bill Cosby gave birth! Wow, ya' learn something new every day. edited again to add: You know more than one lady who's been shot, and in different places? Remind me not to hang around you. I have a strange tendency (some would call it an obsessive compulsive disorder) to avoid being shot. |
