the problem with michael moore is that people don't listen to him from
where he comes from. too many people try to view his movies from an "intellectual" standpoint. watch his first movie, "roger and me" and you will see that he comes from a blue collar background, and his movies are geared toward that audience. his work should be taken with a grain of salt, but he should be applauded for his desire to get an audience that isn't necessarily all that concerned about global issues involved in socio-political debate. |

lol i have issues with nobody. i love everyone, and love to harass
everyone. that said, i would rather fall off a cliff onto many pointy rocks where i would bleed to death while small flesh eating critters picked my bones dry than eat meat. |

one solution would be to integrate our educational system, and focus
more on life skills. reading the classics and learning to graph a quadratic equation are all fine and dandy, but our educational system teaches these skills merely for the sake of teaching them, and they are presented as separate subjects. all of life and all of knowledge is interconnected, and the more widely information is distributed, the more that is obvious. as for life skills, i'm not entirely sure how valuable calculating projectile trajectory is when millions of college students can't balance a check book, manage credit card debt, or have the forethought to open an IRA at an early age. let's start with education reform. then, let's require gainfully employed persons to open an IRA. Perhaps social security checks should then be deposited in said IRA. what's important is that we put partisan politics behind us, and find solutions that are based on the problem at hand instead of on some ass-clown's feelings about abortion. |

don't turn this into "left" versus "right." people on every side are a
bunch of greedy mother****ers, and the real problem with our government is that people are obsessed with "liberal" or "conservative" affiliations. with politicians who are too concerned with whose ass they're kissing, they all forget that once they wipe the **** off their faces, they aren't any closer to solving any problems, because they're effectively destroyed any headway they made by causing new problems. here's a ****ing novel idea; stop blaming each other and arguing about who is right, and realize that ultimately it doesn't matter who is right -- just fix the ****ing problem. |

if you've read any of my other posts in this forum, you'll know i tell
everyone to try a church. it's worth a shot. the worst that will happen is you'll be in the same position you are now. your other option of course is to sell your body... |

try talking to your town recreation department, or the school
administration. if you can find some kind of supervised activity for your children through one of those avenues, that could give you some regular "me" time. you might also see if there is some kind of single parents' group nearby, a place where there are people going through the same thing you are. they will be understanding, and probably willing to help out, as long as you yourself are also willing. "it takes an entire village to raise a child." that means even more than just you and your family. as far as your emotional issues, i would really encourage you to go back to counseling. maybe that could be part of your "me" time. if all else fails, drop the kids off in philly; i love kids! |
