No one is to be singled out. Hell, that guy speaks 2 languages. Who am I to make fun of him? I know one Italian phrase and some high school French. The whole idea here was to laugh at common mistakes that native English speakers make. I just hope no one looses there sence of humor.

OK...here is my soap box moment for the evening. I really don't care who agrees with me or not...sometimes you've got to go against the grain. Is it REALLY that big of a deal??? Does insulting, making jokes and putting others down help anything? Did anyone stop to think that maybe they might not be as educated, typos, bad day or just don't care about spelling, grammar and punctuation? are these people some how inferior to others? NO. If this is all people have to complain about in life...count your blessings for that. and while I'm still on my soap box....this thread has been done MANY times before. Just like the "nice guy" threads and other such threads. But when a new member does a thread that has been done to death....people pounce. Don't forget we were all new at one time too and everyone has feelings as well You can come down now, Rose. No one's being picked on. See the OP. You haven't loost your sence of humor, have you? |

Oh yeah, I have seen 42,889 profiles where they say "I'm tired of dating loosers." Some more I like: "Looking for a sweat heart." "No smockers please." "Hoping to find a fiend." Actually, if you check out the "One Glorious Profile" thread, now on a monitor near you (in living color, assuming you have a color monitor), you will see thousands of hilarious examples of profile-derived Manglish (mangled English). It's almost a cottage industry at this point. Sh!t Lex! I'm busting a gut. |

LOOSE:
1 a: not rigidly fastened or securely attached b (1): having worked partly free from attachments <a loose tooth> (2): having relative freedom of movement c: produced freely and accompanied by raising of mucus <a loose cough> d: not tight-fitting LOSE: 1 a: to bring to destruction —used chiefly in passive construction <the ship was lost on the reef> b: damn <if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul — Matthew 16:26(Authorized Version)> 2: to miss from one's possession or from a customary or supposed place 3: to suffer deprivation of : part with especially in an unforeseen or accidental manner 4 a: to suffer loss through the death or removal of or final separation from (a person) This seems to be the most commonly misused word pair. Definitions courtesy of http://www.merriam-webster.com/ Anybody else want to report on abuses of the King's English? All abuse reports should be anonymous as we are not picking on any individual, rather just looking at common mistakes. I'm sorry. I notice these things. Now I just wonder how many mistakes I made in this post. |

I thought the rule was: "If you don't Vote, you can't Bltch." doesn't say that at all I couldn't vote due to health issues at the time....but won't stop me from speaking Absentee ballot can be filled out if medically not able to get to voting station I still wasn't in any condition to do that For chrissakes! She woulda voted if she could have. Enough! |

The evidence for anthropogenic global warming is based on half truths and pseudo science. It is just another way for politicians to control us and steel from our pockets. Why does EVERYTHING have to be a grand conspiracy to control people and take their money? If "the government" is so damn powerful, why is it broke? We just don't have enough Chief Seattles in the world. But sign me up as one. |

For all those who continue to smoke: The curtain is falling. I hope you feel better about yourself for protecting the universe from all the dangerous smokers, you proselytizing, simple-minded sentient. Keep chipping away at various freedoms and making laws until life no longer has any simple pleasures. Next thing you know they will take sugar and salt, saying that it kills cardiac victims. "proselytizing, simple-minded sentient". Now that's good! |
