it really doesn't. at least not to me. why do folks dye their hair to try and look younger? anyway, how about it. I'm almost 49 and still have all my hairs. It doesn't bother me that a few of them are gray. Beats the hell out of being a chrome dome. |

He was cleared of all charges. Making him innocent. In death should we not remember the good of those that died? I would hope that we would all show the same respect we would hope to get in death. It would be sad thing to have a line of all you have wronged in life at your wake to list all you have done wrong in life since childhood just because there are people who know you did wrong in your life. MJ will always be remembered for his music and his philanthropy. Right on, lillteike. |

The days of a real reporter going out and collecting facts, then reporting what the findings are are gone. Very sad. Well that is pretty much what she said. I remember the last time I was watching a documentary she hosted (i think that is the word) I couldn't help thinking to myself.. but what do you think Christine.. See? I have been conditioned like many to expect comments from the person giving the news. It's much like gossip. Though I am keenly aware that what we have today is not news, it is however exactly what the people want or it would not be that way. For instance, people who hang on ever word coming out of Rush, love him because he caters to their prejudices and bias, just as every other source of talk or news. HOw is one supposed to know the real deal, they don't, period. I used to find my self yelling at the screen, Shut the F up and just tell me what happened. I haven't had tv in 4 months now. I am so calm compared to when I have it. I think I will suspend it another 6 months. Hey boo. I have 300 channels or whatever and I watch about 5. We need a la carte TV. During the height of the Junior Bush era, I started watching Countdown with Keith. A show like his was necessary to help balance the prevailing sentiment in the news media, which for the most part was the kissing of Junior's ***. However, now, even his show does not fairly represent the truth, though I admittedly tend to agree with his points of view. Even though I tend to agree with his points of view, I still want the facts and want them fairly presented. Don't get me wrong. If the choice is believing what Fox Noise Channel says and what MSNBC says, I'm going with MSNBC. It just would be nice to return to the days when news was news regardless of the source. |

My gut feeling is that Michael was a not guilty of any of this child molestation stuff. I think he was a very strange and pitiable individual, but I do not think he was bad.
He's dead. If you hated him, isn't that enough? Must you make jokes? And by the way, it's Michael. M-i-c-h-A-E-l. |

Ole, Ole, Ole, USA, USA Game well played, but a real gut wrencher! Go South Africa! Beat Brazil please!!! That red card late in the game was a crock. Who will replace Bradley? I wouldn't mind Eddie Pope but he's long gone. Is it too late for Alexi Lalas? 
That was a silly card. Bradley had a significant piece of the ball on the tackle in which he drew red. How can you be sent off for a tackle ON THE BALL in which there is clearly no motivation or intent to injure? Today's game has been better officiated for sure. I think Lalas is my favorite player of all time. |

Brazil and South Africa are playing 45 minutes from now to determine who meets the US in the final - at 2:30 PM EST Thursday on ESPN (available in HD). BTW, a salary cap in the US will never work as there isn't enough TV revenue. We (the USA) tried that in the 70s-80s with NASL. They brought in the likes of Pele, Chinaglia, Worthington, Wegerle - tons of international talent with no cap on compensation. Despite crowds in the 30,000s at times, the thing flopped miserably in the mid 80s. Those were some rather entertaining matches though - high-scoring, up-tempo games loaded with speed players. We still couldn't make it work ... ECK. 
Even MLS had to retool once already since its inception around 1996. Don't forget Beckenbauer and Cruyff. |

Admittedly, I didn't read the whole thing. But my take on the current state of journalism is this. The story is written first. Then the "reporter" goes out to find anything or anyone who will back up the story.
The next problem is this "equal time for both sides" bullsh!t. Which results in a "reporter" just regurgitating what he/she is told by individuals on either side of an issue. The last problem is money. Reporters work for for profit organizations. What sells is what goes on the air. Ratings are king. Not truth. The days of a real reporter going out and collecting facts, then reporting what the findings are are gone. Very sad. |
