Secession is unconstitutional, except as pursued through revolution (which would be foolish) or a consent of the States (which would be, to put it mildly, unlikely).

The rise in national debt is necessary. Right now, the American economy needs a stimulus. Rather build new roads that start new wars.

I can agree with 4, 3, and 1.
Apple hates on Microsoft for everything, but that did not get in the way of people cherishing XP or the X-Box. Vista is just an easy target. I don't agree with the business model argument either. 7 follows the same shrink-wrap idea as Vista, but people like it. |

Evolution is promulgated strictly as an ideology, and has never been shown to be anything other than a "Theory". For the last time, the word 'theory' in science does not mean the same thing as 'theory' as used by laymen. |

If you turned all education in America over to private schools we would turn into a Caste system. Like in India. Or you might learn that the caste system has nothing to do with who funds education. |

But...what if it's only a dollar a week or something like that? Over 30 million people receive food stamps. If 1% of them buy one lottery ticket every two weeks, that is still about $7.2 million in public money per annum. |

Jesus, of course. He's had experience in being resurrected, and it would clear up a lot of confusion once we found an interpreter.

I think it's to discourage people on support from spending the money on lottery tickets. For every one person who wins, thousands don't and lose their money - only in this case, it's the taxpayers' money.

A large fraction of those AIG bonuses were paid to employees not responsible for the part of the business that sunk the economy. To keep them from getting bonuses strikes at the very heart of contract law.

It is interesting to note that in most of the rest of the world, namely in Europe, India, and China, evolution is taught and discussed as it ought to be - a scientific theory not disprovable by a Bronze-age fairy tale.
Catch up, America. |

1. Start by murdering everyone from a different religion (Crusades).
2. Follow up by whittling down to everyone from your own denomination (Marian Persecutions). 3. Finally, exterminate converts you think are still practising their old religion in secret (Spanish Inquisition). 4. Repeatedly make sure no one in the select group now left deviates from the One True Path (yours, of course!) (Ted Haggard is completely heterosexual). 5. Ta-da! Now with no one to bicker with, we finally have world peace. |

Conservatives should really be the last people to name Tom Paine. He'd be pained. |
