I am an avid reader. I like to consider myself an intellectual, and I enjoy conversations about history, religion, politics, and "what if" ysis of life's foibles. I have a strong and often irreverent sense of humor, and don't consider any subject taboo to joke about. My favorite past-time is sitting at Starbuck's and discussing whatever subject that doesn't include such things as what's popular on tv or current celebrities. I don't ever watch television, so these topics mean nothing to me.I am an aspiring novelist, and am currently working at getting a book published through a literary agent. Though I don't ever watch television, I do enjoy movies on the dvd player, and I have a couple of seasons of the Simpsons.
I want to meet someone of like thinking who enjoys laughing at anything and everything. Someone who has never heard of a serious topic of discussion, preferably. Ideally, I want a friendship first and romance later, but I am not adverse to love at first sight if it is mutual. I am not particular about body type or looks in general. I am more interested in someone with strong intelligence or a desire to look at life objectively and openly. I would like someone who is polite, kind, gentle spirited, but self-confident. Eventually, I want a permanent relationship, but I want to go slowly and enjoy the early stages and take things one day at a time.
I say that my body type is a few extra pounds, but I would have been considered sexy and voluptuous in the Renaissance period. During the 1980s I would be considered hopelessly fat, but today I am politely called full-bodied. Call me what you want, but I am happy with how I look. If I could drop a few pounds, I wouldn't be sorry to see them go. But if they stay around to keep me company and don't invite too many of their friends to stay long-term, then I'm okay with that too.
Race is unimportant, nor is body shape, but intellectual equality is.
